My Random Thoughts on the class:

My Background
I have never been in the military or law enforcement. I am not a shooter by profession. I shoot, compete and train for my sole enjoyment and betterment. So I am very aware that I am neither high speed or low drag. I have never been there, and have never done that. I have taken 3 carbine and 1pistol courses in the last 2 years previous to this one. This was my first with EAG.

The Instructors:
Pat is a no nonsense guy with lots of info to share. He has probably forgotten more about the carbine, tactics and employment of those then I, and many others will ever know. He also is a stand up comic with hours of ethic jokes to entertain and amuse everyone. He has also probably forgotten more jokes then most of us will ever know.

He is very serious about what he is teaching and that it only takes a split second to get lazy and lose situational awareness. He worked hard trying to keep everyone tuned in, safe, and open minded to trying new things.

Mike is very knowledgeable and willing to help. He kept the class moving and was always willing to give feedback, advice and pass on helpful info about tactics and gear. He was also the class armorer who got the down guns up and running. We worked hard behind the scenes making sure everything was ready for the maximum amount of learning to take place. He also let us Floridians know it was not cold regardless of what the thermometer said.

Things I liked:
I enjoyed meeting Pat and Mike and learning from them what they know and have experienced as being effective employment of the carbine. The class was a good refresher and also exposed me to some new things. I didn’t shoot anyone and no one shot me, always a good thing. I enjoyed getting to meet new people. I liked getting to rum my 10.5 gun in the class and having it run flawlessly. Also like the free mags, hats, Dillo, etc.  Thanks to Bravo Company, Magpul, and Larue.

New Things I learned:
A new shooting position “Monica”, using the aimpoint as a ghost ring, and when the front lens is covered. That I do not like my chest rig, I need a bigger dump pouch,

Things I didn’t like:
The neighbors have made night shooting a difficult thing for Southern Exposure. Nothing we can do about that, but it meant no shooting before 9am or after 5:30pm. So there was no night or low light shooting and this also limited the round count.I would have liked a little more pistol action, I know it is not a pistol course, but I enjoy transitions.

**UPDATE** The 3 day EAG course does not include a night a shoot, my bad for having that expectation,

Great pics and review. The real question is if you ended up getting the Vagisil?

LOL... that's awesome.  I saw a pic in SWAT (re: proper lubrication, etc) and wondered if finicky guns actually get the Vagisil treatment or is it really Slip2000 in a Vagisil bottle?

BTW, c350z, great AAR & pics.  Thanks.

I think Pat actually used to put real Vagisl in the gun.

When I took a class with him, he used just keep a pack in his pocket for those with a sandy mangina.
