| I'll be studying abroad in Europe this January (England, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic). I want to be able to defend myself, but taking my m4 on a class trip is clearly out. CS spray and tasers would be hard. I was thinking something along the lines of a spike (maybe a really beefy pen or kubaton). Any ideas? |

Dude, I recall a news story of a shop owner in England that was convicted of hurting one of two guys that were robbing him. I don't recall the actual charge, but I do recall a statment to the effect of "there is NO excuse for this kind of barbarism." The shop owner wasn't even armed, just defending himself. Not saying you shouldn't go, but I sure don't know what kind of self defense you could get away with over there. They'd feel better if you a civilized person and just took your beating until the bad guys were tired of beating/killing you. Good luck. |
