Anyone making any specific changes to their shooting plan for 2017? Dry fire, specific match goals, changing guns or gear, etc?
I will be sticking with my G19 IWB, but I will try to shoot USPSA this year instead of just IDPA. My main goal is to shoot faster. I have plateaued a little with nearly all A zone hits, so I need to work on the speed side of the house now (HF around 5.0). What are your goals or changes for this year? |

I'm going to focus on shooting a lot of local matches and only a select few major matches. I started shooting Open a couple months ago and I'm planning on sticking with it for all of 2017. I'm hoping to make A by the AL Sectional in March, but I don't know that I'll be able to get 3 or 4 more A classifiers in by then.
Other than that, I'm working on getting back into better shape and doing a lot of dry fire. I'm also joining a range where I can actually shoot like I want. |
| I know I'm going to be at home for at least the next 12 months, so every single local IDPA match and will try to hit some of the state matches in the south east. Just happy to know that I'm going to get some regular trigger time for the next calendar year. |

| I'm trying to have all the ammo I'll need loaded by the end of March so I can constraint on shooting and not worry about running out of ammo. The last two years I have been loading just ahead of what I was using so that cost me a lot of shooting time over the summers. |

I'm going to shorten my dry fire sessions to 15 min./ night maximum.
I am guilty of doing long, grinding sessions and wearing myself down. I think there are diminishing returns past a certain level of competency. There will be more frequent live fire sessions, with more focused direction and purpose.  I will isolate discrete skills at a time in different ways via a variety of drills.  Focus on concepts, not the drill itself. I will improve my "cold" runs and bring them in line with my warm runs, being able to execute my peak performance on demand. There will be an overall more analytical approach to training and match breakdown, beginning with a training log book that I will maintain religiously. My process will be improved, and the result will take care of itself. |
In real life I am very "libertarian" and support them fully. Perhaps take a lesson from the man who uses the screen name "beararms"--he is a real libertarian. - thebeekeeper1
