A decent holster, mag holders and a good attitude with a regard for safety.

Actualy, if you don't have a mag holder and wanted to dig mags out of your pocket, that would work, it is just slow. If you don't have a nice holster, you can start off with a cheesey Uncle Mikes nylon gun bucket and save your pennies for something better.

The number one thing you should bring is an open mind and a good attitude.
Things that make life easier are good ear protection, a good cap, sunglasses and some gatorade to stay hydrated.

Your P85 will go in SSP (Stock Service Pistol)

All the rules can be found here

Here is a web page for Collin County IDPA with good info for new shooters. Look at the links at the bottom as well.

Thats actually what I use, they are IDPA legal.  Some people like them, some don't.
Practice drawing from it with an UNLOADED (check 3 times) gun.

Have fun, stay safe.

I have been looking and cannot find a good holster for my P-85.  Does any one know where I could find one and the best type of mag holders, and how many.

Blade Tech makes a SRB for the P-85, its a super fast holster to draw from.
