I got a wild idea last night to grab an uncle mikes kydex holster and head to a local match.  I haven't shot a pistol in probably 6 or 7 years.  I had no idea this was so addictive.  I showed up at the range to find they guy I bought the glock from and fell in with him.  I got a few loaner mag pouches and a little coaching and all went well.  If I am not mistaken I shot 2 of the 6 stages clean, for sure one of them.  The later in the day it got the more excited and faster I started shooting.   Ending the last stage with the SO yelling at me to move to cover more than once..........  at least I didn't kill the no shoots.  Now my wife talked about shooting next month on the way home and I am planning on how to hide gear purchases and maybe another pistol.  I think I have found my new adiction.   I may even try a match with my J frame 640 since it is my usual carry piece.

Running and gunning is good for the soul.

Next check out a IPSIC match= more fun and no one yelling at you for cover.

I may look into it.  There is an IDPA match this weekend that is local, I may shoot it depending on work.  I checked out the results that were posted last night and I was the highest finisher of the unclassified shoteres.

Welcome to the addiction.  Once you start it is very hard to stop.  Don't worry about the cover calls.  Use of cover will come with time and makes perfect sense if you look at IDPA's origins.
