Looks like Mackey and D-12 are doing well in the P-100 so far.

Shot the P100 for the first time today, and past 300 for the first time. Had a couple misses, and miss judged the wind for the 2nd string, but still shot a 238. Got a lot of work to do, but all in all I am happy that at least I am at the matches and shooting....I could be at work.

The NTI was my main focus, but making the P100 would've been a really nice bonus. I got the leg, but still need 16. I'm going to make sure I shoot all the leg matches I'm allowed this year (something I've been remiss about doing). I still have a couple left to shoot, so hopefully I can pick up some more. |

The bummer part is I only get the 6 points for the bronze.... not the full ten earned at Nationals that civilians receive. Active duty military goes by the service policy, sad as ours is completely unsupported and you are on your own for all competitions.
I'd be Double Distinguished right now if I shot this match as a retired shooter....

As far as I know: - I can only shoot four EICs a year. - I cannot shoot in the SAFS. - I can shoot in two non-Army EICs a year until I've earned 14 points. - NTI points are not counted as part of the 14 point maximum. - Once I hit 14 points, I'm effectively limited to shooting in Level 3 competitions like All-Army and the NTI (because there are no Army Level 1 and 2 competitions) When I talked with Michael Behnke, the USAMU chief of competitions, a few weeks ago, he didn't say anything about receiving reduced points. Are you in a difference service? If so, how do your regulations differ? |

Page 29 has the pistol points award and page 79 list the rifle points awards. Each service also has it's own rules, all 30 points for USCG competitors can come from Regional or National events or even major military command events. We are limited to four matches per year of which only two can be regional with the fourth being national., the same as most civi's and service components. The one major difference for us is the lack of a requirement of a precious. This is something that I'm working on changing at the same time allowing a 10 point award if a member legs during the NTI. |

As a non-sponsored pogue Reservist, I'm lucky if I shoot 100 rounds a year on the Army's dime (2 x 40 for qualification plus zeros). It's almost discouraging to have the deck stacked against me because I wear a uniform two days a month. Thanks for the info. It's nice to find that out ahead of time. |

Army Regulation 350–66, Paragraph 3-2.b. says, "Active Army and Reserve Component personnel may not enter the national matches or other EIC matches in the civilian category." The way I see it, when I finally earn Distinguished, it'll be that much more special to me.

There have only been about 650 national guard/ reserve guys ever get it, only 2200 or so? In the whole military. More people have the CMH... there are more players with Superbowl rings walking around than DR guys. its special mo matter what, but under a stricter set if rules it is more so. you need at least a silver win for the army as well. in local matches thats #2 usually. its a tough crowd in some areas. its frustrating at times, as the CMP would award points to me and the Army would take them away... Lol hurts a little, but makes it more worthy a cause. It took me 2 years of straight shooting, and then a two year wait to shoot the nationals last year. When you get your silver EIC (20 points) you are no longer eligible for points in civilian matches and can only get your last ones at interservice, or the nationals. I got a nice letter from cmp and had to wait, one year deployed, then another for the nationals. If I were civilian, it would have happened in a year and a half. Solid master scores will get you in, solid High master scores will guarantee silver or gold. If you can get up to Atlanta for a match I will help you as much as I can. It is a worthy endeavor for anyone. |

It is a worthy endeavor for anyone. The cut-off for non-Army matches is 14 points. Even if you're sitting at 13 points and earn 10 more in a civilian match, the Army will only give you 1 point. |
