Not that I want to give Creedmoor any more money, but I just received my first shipment from them and it included a catalog.  Inside I see an iPhone mount for the Kowa scope.  I was thinking this might be something initially developed for bird watchers, but wondering how useful it was for shooters.  I'm not even sure I could get my screen bright enough to see on the range or would want to dick with it during a match.

Thoughts?

I saw a guy use his phone to catch photos of his rapid strings for his notebook.
It looked like it worked for him.

I was thinking about that as I am building an FPV quad. I have a wireless cam with a 5.8g Tx/Rx and a 8" monitor.
The problem is getting the necessary vid driver.

I was playing with my scope and iPhone today.  I can definitely see the allure.

Are you able to see mirage at all on the iPhone display?

Thanks,
Erik

I can't answer that.  I've had the scope less than a day and I don't even know how to see mirage with my eye.

Video from 600 yards.  I guess this is what a sniper's spotter is watching (best seen full screen at 1080p).

That wavy stuff that looks like what you see looking down a hot road in the summer is mirage.. In your video it is going left to right it appears... The target next to yours over corrected... There is alot to it, and takes some practice. ;)
