I would like to upgrade my shooting stool to a cart, but I'm not sure which upgrade to go with. Of course the best source for unbias information is here. My two choices are: What are the pros and cons? Just looking for the best value for my money. Once again thanks for all your help. Also what are some good highpower forums? |

They are both good units. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but they come from cottage industry, not China, so the prices reflect small production runs.
The best advice I can offer is to get an in-person look at one of each before you decide, then go after one. |
| Either one is nice to have and there are few other types as well as some home made ones. I have used the ray-vin conversion and the creedmoor sports conversion. I traded out the hard wheels for inflate able ones from northern tool. That made a huge difference. A good cart is hard to beat at the bigger matches. |

Check with Stalling Machine also. I have this cart kit it's nice ....it's under all this stuff somewhere http://garandthumb.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/20130506-222231.jpg |
| I have a Ray-Vin (Stallings) and for me it's perfect. I believe it's lighter than the others and it is compact when folded. I drive a Toyota Corolla and the cart fits in the trunk along with the rifle, coat, scope/stand, and mat. If you drive a truck or something with a larger trunk, then its size doesn't matter. Make sure that whichever one you get, you can lift it into your vehicle - I'm old and kinda broken down. |

It came! http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p216/dnmccoy/schneller%20cart/20130517_160535_zpse7610394.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p216/dnmccoy/schneller%20cart/20130517_160544_zpsbf5befe7.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p216/dnmccoy/schneller%20cart/20130517_160550_zpsbea2a84f.jpg Ive got (hopefully) a match this weekend, will post a review afterwards Looks great and will last you for years to come. Now for the mods....... The top hooks for your rifle/scope pole and the rifle hooks just above the seat are held on by buttons and they don't stay on very well. Strongly suggest you thread it and put a nylock nut on all of them. Also if you don't need to break it down replace the wing nuts with bolt. Our cadets used to not tighten the wing nuts very well and would always loose them on the range. (we use a trailer to transport our carts so breaking them down isn't an issue) the last thing is to lightly sand the top of that aluminum drop table and hit it with some flat paint. The early morning sun coming off that beast will blind you if you don't. We grabbed black because it was on hand, If I could do it all over again I'd go with a lighter color. Mid-August you can cook and egg on it, it gets that hot. |
| I zip tied the horizontal rifle hooks on mine so they wouldn't flop around and catch on everything. I use them to hold my scoring/pit stool (I use the vertical rifle rack). The only thing I didn't like about the Schneller was the cup that holds the scope stand base. On stands like mine (Ray Vin) where the legs fold up, the cup is huge. Instead I just leave one leg partially extended, insert it into the carry loop on the bag, and bungee the shaft to the top on the handle bar. Makes for a nice extension to hold when pushing the cart. |
