anyone ever try this? I bought a RRA A2 backup iron rear sight for my flattop. Super sight but the flip sight is not threaded and the small aperture is too large. I cannot focus my aging eyes adequately on the front sight post. Not good. I figure if I buy and replace with the Bushie competition A2 flip sight then I get to thread in the smaller apertures, similar to what I use with my DCM gun. Presto, problem solved. Anyone ever do this? Is the flip portion of the sights easy to change out? thanks Billy boy |

Billy; Always look before you leap. Here is what you should have bought from RRA. www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=280 You bought the standard when you should have bought the NM .Call RRA and ask for an exchange. Dave McGrath |

Dave: here is what I bought: AR3305ASY RRA Stand Alone Rear Sight Assembly I did not want the handle type. It's a long story; I am happy with the sight, the only thing is the small aperture is too big and is not threaded. I can buy from Bushie a flip sight ($25) that is threaded for all the apertures/ hood and replace it. Ever take one apart? (Any pointers on the reassembly?) thanks for the help billy |

billy, Drive the pin out of the windage drum and unscrew the windage screw from the left. Watch the flat sping under the flip site. Reassemble. Not real difficult and no secret method..pretty straight forward swap. Swaped a threaded BM flip site in my std A2 also. dmince |
sounds good to me. thanks billy |

Hey! I 'am old school. What do you guys use this stuff for? I am only into competition for CMP/NRA Highpower. That's what this thread is for. Sorry I got the wrong concept as to what all this new gear is used for. I thought we were talking carry handle legal for our sport .Dave McGrath |
