Hello, new to Highpower, looking to buy a decent scope and stand for Service Rifle, The Konus 15-45 x65mm looks like it should work and fits my budget. I need advice on a decent stand and accessories if needed. The scope has a rotating band- I don't know how to mount this type.

Any of the scope stands from Champions Choice, Champion Shooter Supply, Creedmoor Sports, or Neal Johnson will work fine.  They all have three mounting systems and your scope will work with any of them.  I prefer the zoom head, but the swivel or saddle mount style will work on your scope as well.  I would buy the tripod version over the lightweight bipod style as it will be much harder to tip over than the bipod style.

Ray-Vin stands are most popular on the firing line. Well made and simple to use.

I checked out quite a few and settled on the Ray Vin.

Ray-Vin has a very good scope stand and he is one very nice fella! He backs his products 100% but what ever you choose, be sure to get one with three legs!

Thanks for the input, The Ray-Vin looks top notch - I like the one step adjustment head. Will probably go with the 60" tall model, I'm 6'+ with the ever popular bad back.

You don't have to be 6'+ for that to be.

Get the Cleaning rod inside it too.   It's always nice to have the rod with you,

In our Championship we shoot prone and I didn't find any stand really good for that. The risk is always to loose the good position
I've develpoed mine that si far is the best I've tried.

Just a suggestion.

Paolo,
We rarely shoot on a smooth surface suitable for your stand. Ray-Vin also makes a prone stand (FStand) that will stand on any surface.

that stand looks good for concrete shooting, but i would have problems on some of the surfaces i have shot on.
the ground is nowhere near flat
good job though
i settled on a tripod stand from champ choice years ago.  large platform but stable in standing even in the wind

Well, I went and ordered the 48" classic from Ray-Vin. It is a VERY well made product and easy to use. It came with the cleaning rod fitting which is handy. I mounted a Konus 15-45x65 on it for now, and it seems to work OK for a inexpensive scope. I posted an old target out back at about 150 paces and could see .22 holes in it clearly.
I think I'll have to take it down to the beach for further testing. "No lady i'm not a pervert or anything, just trying out my new equiptment and need some markers to judge yardage"
Thanks all for the input. Ron.

I think you'll like the 48" over the 60",, not as prone to high wind. Just a slight bend to look throught the scope in off hand, and fits in the car better.

Informational:I am new to highpower also. I  purchased a konus 80mm and can see .223 holes at 200yds. I bought my scope and stand for about $350.00 from jarheadtop.com. I am satified with it.

If you got the colapsable stand, be very careful with keeping it clean.
