Hit the range today as it was a Beautiful day. Had the place to my self (Yeah)

Came up with a drill that others may like. Its a good drill to work on Manipulation in a Plate carrier.

The drill is simple
Load three mags with 2 rds
Load your AR with one magazine with 2 rds (12 total)
One IDPA type target with a A zone (I make my own.
12 yrds from target in low ready
Par time is 12seconds

At the Beep..Fire a pair.. speed reload...a pair..speed reload...a pair...speed reload...

Count your rds.. all 12 should be in the A zone under the 12second par time..

What I like about this drill...it makes you reload from your PC. To me, this is a good drill to get you to be able to out all three mags on the front of my PC and I only use 12 rds..

***NOTE***** I just realized, I only used 8 rds not 12 (Math is not my strong suit) . I'll have to try it next time with 3rds per mag vs. 2.

In Kit

1st run

2nd run

3rd run

Give it a try.

I also did it with pistol . same distance. same Par time but with 1 les mag (I only keep to mags on my belt and on in the gun..

1st run

2nd run.. got sloppy, and did not get the hits.

3rd run and pulled one.

Overall I'm digging it, will be doing it again. Try it and see what you think.

Not sure if there is a similar drill out there. if there is let me know.

ISounds like a good time.
I would not focus on your time, focus on mechanics and accuracy, let speed be the byproduct.
Check your time and note it, but do not set a goal to "beat", your goal should be accuracy and mechanics.
Try to run McNameras Grid of Fire with that setup of 9 rounds total -3 mags, you can run it with a rifle too.
