I hate to do this but I need to share this gem with you.

Have stopped by AX Tactical twice this week and have fallen in love with that shop. I've spoken with 4 different people who work there and they are all awesome. They carry a good selection of handguns (mostly Glock and 1911's - as it should be) and have quite the powder/primer selection as well.

Right next to Symeon's for those in the "Yorkville" (it's New Hartford) area.

My only financial affiliation with them is that I bought some primers and a reloading manual there today.

Check the shop out, support another great local business.

The last year we did GATM at Ft. Drum the owner(s) came up and shot with us.  I've never purchased anything from them but they seemed like a good group of guys and were fun to shoot with.

If you ever go to Gander or Bass Pro Utica it's within 5 - 10 minutes. Go to AX first and then whatever money you have left over take to the big box. You can thank me later.

If I'm ever down that way I will be sure to.  The Baas Pro in Auburn is 15 mins from our hunting camp and we have a Gander Mountain up here in Watertown, so I've never had a reason to go to the one in Utica.

I'm in Watertown about every week.

We ought to have a gathering.

Next time I'm in or around Utica I will check it out. Thanks Highspeed.

Absolutely. I do quite a bit of traveling - still have to stop into Van Tassels and see fp1201.

If there are any stores between syracuse, utica and Malone worth stopping into LMK.

If you can find the Mc D's off exit 41 (I-81) you can find me....unless I'm working.
Van Tassel's is closed on Sun & Mon.

I thought the store was up on RT 37?

And the Exit 41 Dunkin is my coffee spot.

They are moving to a bigger space (front suite of the same building) this weekend. I lightened their packing load a little.

I picked up a nice Oriskany Arms 1911 at AX Tactical last summer.  Nice gun.  And the guys in the shop were great!

I'm good for a trip out there today, but if they're moving, they're probably not open... (just a guess)

I was in there yesterday and noticed those. I'd never heard of Oriskany before. They were a little busy so I didn't get a chance to ask about them.

I picked up an Oriskany to add to my "Made in NY 1911 collection".  So far:

Remington R1 - Ilion
Kimber Tactical Entry and Ultra Crimson Carry - Yonkers
Oriskany Arms 1911 Traditional FP - Oriskany
Turnbull Commander - Bloomfield
Dan Wesson V-Bob - Norwich

Can you think of any manufacturers I missed?

Oh, yeah.  Almost forgot.

FUAC.

I should get a 1911 but I have a hard on for 10mm.

However may put gun buying on hold to get a Master's....my ticket out of NY.

And per BYUIND's instruction I've enrolled in a Six Sigma Green Belt course.
