Hows that safe act working for you buffalo?
"Gun violence" |

The laugh is on you if you thought the safe act was designed to curb gun violence. Its only about control. wait until you see the handgun renewal roll out....this is going to be a NYSP function and the only County (issuing authority) involvement will be minimal, so if you're not squeaky clean in the NICS, MHL/946, DMV, Parole, probation, NYS Wanted & missing Data Bases or have ever had an order of protection issued, you ARE going to loose your guns and Licenses. I asked for a copy of the notes/memorandum and was told the SP did not want the details released.

OK, I'll throw tid-bits, here's one: ...pistol permit(sic) data will be linked to the DMV data base and an Officer would know a vehicle pulled over was owned by a Pistol Permit(sic) holder. Indicating a Pistol Permit(sic) on the face of a drivers license is not a decision that has been made yet. Note: It IS a License, not a "permit" and I don't give a damn who calls it that, words have meaning, and identifying the licenses as a "permit" lessens the authority of the document. |

Not that I'm aware of....most of the "free States" will run your name through and as long as there aren't any flags, will issue a CCW in a few days if not on the spot. It's easier to get a Licenses to practice medicine in NYS that to get a simple license to own a handgun.

I believe it may be an option, not mandatory, but I'm not sure. |

I would go for it if it was optional and if doing so allowed you to carry without having to carry your handgun license with you everytime have a gun on you. Doesn't matter, we will never have any say, nothing positive will ever happen, and I'm out of this state soon anyhow. Just thinking out loud, with my fingertips. |

I'm waiting for several people being denied due to some Mental health bs and being sued on a federal level just like they did in the 6th court.. Its going to be a fun ride and i want the popcorn. I love to see this state get there ass handed to them..
Maybe the republicans will slide in a state funding cut if they use this data with them owning both the house and senate now. |
| The answer is the culture of violence in the inner city perpetuated by shitty teen parents raising more high school drop outs who see music, gang life, and athletics as the only viable options to produce and income- and the income isn't to feed their kids and send them to college it's to buy dinner plate rims and Reeboks with the pump. |

Also what if you decide to not renew your driver license? I guess they could just require you to

Clerk couldn't/wouldn't send me a copy I figured the best thing to do was apply bullet points where applicable.

And all this BULLSHIT is going to stop "gun" violence how? Progressive opposite land. Criminalize the law abiding, allow the criminals to roam free. It's not meant to "stop gun violence" that's merely the cover story. The clear objective is to "create a pristine data base" of who has what, where they live, and IF they're still qualified to own a handgun (and ostensibly other guns, because you can bet if you loose the pistols, they WILL take the long guns too!) While there's been no mandate set forth, I contend there will also be some sort of legislation mirroring this with "Assault Rifles" that were registered. With the militarization, taking whoever applies, training with "shoot first, ask later" mentality, and now the latest from SOCTUS that the Officer doesn't have to KNOW the law if he thinks he's in the right, it won't be long before your license plate is read, you're flagged as a gun owner, and shot dead just because. Read that article about a Florida CCW holder stopped for no other reason in MD because he was similarly flagged as a "gun owner" |
