| GF left 2 weeks ago. Moved out her and her son's stuff. Her DL is my address and she's on my Geico auto insurance. I don't know where she moved and says not to contact her so I'm not gonna risk anything by confronting her. From what I heard she got a company car. I know her jobs' name and address. Geico says they can't take that info and contact her themselves. Is there anything NY that allows another way to get this done? Geico says the surcharge from her accident back in 2011 will be removed if there's no other activity on her side on my next renewal in October. I don't want to wait with her driving history. |

Well Geico is your first problem. You get what you pay for (sometimes.)
With Amica all I had to do (same situation) was tell them she was out, I'd changed the locks and garage door code. Start calling different companies. Don't even mention your ex- all you want to do is insure yourself. If they do a check and ask about her (that's IF) then tell them she no longer lives there. |
| Last week, I logged on and removed her. My price went down by about 30 a month just today. But right now, I'm paying an extra 20 a month surcharge because of her accident back in 2011. If she's clean until October, the surcharge is removed. My sister is going to try to see if her contact at another company to see if can give me a better rate. If she really has a company car, I'm hoping they have her insured because no one is able to look it up with the DMV if such check exists. |

They let you log on to your account and just remove her from your policy? If that's the case I don't see a problem but I kinda doubt it if her driver license still lists your address as her residence. AFAIK the surcharge is separate and isn't dependent on whether she's listed on your policy or not. |

I logged in to remove her name but they won't remove the surcharge unless they have proof that she has her own insurance. Right now, her name is no longer on my insurance but her address is still the same as mine. From GEICO, "We are sorry to hear about your situation with The Bitch. Unfortunately, due to her accident on 08/17/2011, we are unable to remove her from your policy without proof that she has other insurance. We would not be able to contact her directly to get this information. If you are unable to send in the requested documents to remove The Bitch, she would have to remain an active driver for now. The good news is that upon your next renewal the surcharge for the accident will be removed from your policy. Your next renewal is on 10/23/2014. Once this surcharge is removed and The Bitch has no other surchargable activity, we would be able to remove her without documentation showing other insurance. |

I had to just switch insurance companies. Problem solved..progressive would not allow me to remove x and I had no way to contact her. So I switched to Allstate. Gonna do that. Sis has a friend there. Gave them some info and they said they'll call her. Geico wouldn't do that. |
