I'm glad somebody else thinks so. Just wanted help or advice and I feel like I've stepped on a beehive. Maybe it's the norm here, I don't know. Why don't you try the PA hometown forum? There are no legal issues there and the travel time is not that long. Hell, even NJ people can provide assistance. And Fuck Cuomo. I hope he chokes on Bloomberg's cock. |

I'm not trying to gain access to an assault weapon. Last time I checked, rifles don't count unless they have specific accessories attached to them. I can develop accessories without having access to a rifle because accessory rails are standardized, usually either Picatinny or Weaver. I've handled firearms before. I am not a troll or a sting operator. I don't know how I would prove that. If you're actually interested, I'm perfectly fine with giving my phone number or email address to you so we can speak privately. I thought posting on this forum would be a good place to start. I apologize if I offended anyone. Let's just say that you've offended people . .. . .. and leave it at that . |

Quoted: I can understand the skepticism but I didn't expect the hostility. It's tough being a student and in New York City and if I had access to what I need, I wouldn't need to post here. Back to the drawing board... Your making a request for access to firearms, in a state that has a history of setting up stings to entrap or otherwise make gun owners look bad. Ad to the fact that it sounds very strange that someone with no access to firearms is designing accessories for such. What kind of experience do you have with firearms or shooting in general? |

OP,
Please note that none of the members in NYHTF own any AWs. Some possibly did before January of this year, but everyone had given them up or sold them out of state. We are all in full compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Maybe you should re-focus on bolt action rifle accessories. |

Ok so I reread the laws. I get it that most rifles are considered assault weapons but I also saw this
•Assault weapons does not include: •any rifle, shotgun or pistol that: is manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; or has been rendered permanently inoperable So bolt action is legal right? It kinda sounds like no one owns a legal rifle, which I find hard to believe. |

OP seems more legit than Rex. Sorry for being a dick OP, thought you were Rex. I don't have an AR that can be tested on, but I can throw some rails on a 10/22 or will independently test products and send back,
Our skepticism is based in the laws of NY and the dynamics of the industry. The best accessories manufacturers are guys who shoot these guns frequently. Military, .gov, and LEO's, plus competitive shooters. It raises a red flag when someone who doesn't fit that mold has an idea. |

Definitely not a flaming liberal and I'm sorry if I ever gave you the impression that I was one. I picked up shooting and archery a couple years back. It's a nice hobby that I try to engage in when I'm not at school and can afford it. I don't own a gun at the moment but I intend for that to change once I'm out of school and settled down. I know New York has had a history. It sucks that my request has drawn so much skepticism but I understand where this sentiment is coming from. I'm not here to rat on you or anything. This is a big request, I know, and I don't expect it to be fulfilled immediately. I want you to have complete confidence in me so let me buy you a beer and chat sometime if you're interested. So Billy, or Willy or whatever your name is, why come here? Why not go back to where you "picked up shooting and archery" and use those guns ? |

We are the backbone of society and the libs are trying to break us. We have committed no crime yet we are targets of entrapment, intimidation and prosecution. Maybe you can relay this to the lib professors and students at Columbia. It is thanks to them and their kind that we are dealing with gross violations of our civil rights. |
