Ok, now that they're saying there will be no more changes to "SAFE", and the changes that have been made are just as vague as the rest of this mess...
... As far as you guys can tell, where do revolvers stand? Is a cylinder a "similar ammunition feeding device"? Do 8+ shot revolvers like the Ruger Single-Ten now have to be loaded with7 rounds It's so sad that I even have to ask this.... |

Revolvers do not have a magazine. They have a cylinder. PERIOD. (i.e., don't give THEM any ammunition.) |

From the NYSRPA unSAFE Act lawsuit "Similar device” 150. "‘Large capacity ammunition feeding device’ means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device, that, inter alia, "contains more than seven rounds of ammunition” or "has a capacity of . . . more than seven rounds of ammunition . . . .” § 265.00(23). 151. Many revolvers hold eight or more rounds. The rounds are contained in the chambers of a cylinder that is not detachable from the frame of the revolver. A revolver cylinder is not a magazine, belt, drum, or feed strip. Plaintiffs do not believe that it is a "similar device,” but that term is vague and law enforcement authorities may believe that it is a "similar device.” 152. The term "similar device” is unconstitutionally vague as applied to a revolver cylinder. A revolver cylinder that holds more than seven rounds is not a "large capacity ammunition feeding device.” |

I'm glad the NYSRPA's lawsuit addresses this, Too bad the Law itself is so poorly written. Dude, it's NY law, it is intentionally vague and confusing. Very similar to the infamous Article 58 of the USSR Criminal Code of 1926 that was used to send millions of people into the Gulag. |

Quoted: Because the guy that just got arrested for running from police with 10 bags of weed also is getting charged with having more than 7 bullets in his gun. As of yesterday he had not been charged with anything other than the pot, CPW 2nd loaded firearm and obstruction. |

Has anyone figured out if 7+1 in a semi is GTG? It depends how did you get that +1 in there. ![]() true if you load 8 then chamber a round to be at 7+1 you were violating the law for a short time so you'll have to load 7 or less, chamber a round, then drop the mag and bring it up to 7 rounds and reinsert into the gun
