Many, or most around here are out of gas, hence the OP question. |

Call me a conspiracy nut, but this is a deliberate effort to keep gas stations frim being re-supplied. I don't know why. Perhaps to keep as many people as possible off the roads. Maybe Obama's visit to Jersey had something to do with it.
In any case, the atmosphere is very tense and if gas is short there will be problems. Good luck to everyone and may your power return asap. |

hey guys,
i know most places upstate will have gas. we are looking for rockland area and lower, or not far from rockland. being in westchester, its really a line waiting game, but the mayor of yonkers imposed a 10 gal ration. http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/1942147852001/ |

WOW. 2 Gallons worth. Better ride a moped or scooter to work. |
|
the entire county is tapped ETA: that is incorrect, according to rockland county .gov site http://rocklandgov.com/index.php/storm-update/ but that would have been nuts if it was $10 |

Failure to obey this order is a criminal offense. Commercial businesses and emergency vehicles are exempt from the law. So If you pull up with your pick up that has commercial plates, ready to haul topsoil or mulch to someone you can fill up. ![]() |

Well if you want to drive to middletown in orange county we have gas. is there still gas in middletown and are there any restrictions to quantity? wait time? I have a neighbor on oxygen (whatever that means) who needs gas for his generator. If I can make it up there I can make it a twofer gunshow/refueling. |

So what can we do about all the price gouging thats going on? Some places on Long Island are charging up to 4.90 a gallon. nothing. economics my friend. supply / demand to some people gas would be worth way more than $5 per gallon. eta if anyone needs a hot meal or shower im me i'm in riverdale |

I gassed up at 0530 at Stewarts, on 9W, in Newburgh. No problems or wait. Tanker just left the premise. It's about 2-3 miles north of 84, on the southbound side. I'm sure that if you go further north on 9W, you'll have good luck as the area is lightly populated, compared to orange / rockland. |

Quoted: WHen all this is over how many people will be buying Natural Gas Generators?? This storm is a perfect example of why I shelled out $10k for a 20k watt natural gas generator a year ago That being said, I got gas in Hopewell last night at 2AM with a very cold Glock 26 strapped to my side.

We had been talking about those, I believe the local company is pushing the Generac's. Honestly, if we had the cash we would be getting one of those units. |

East Fishkill: http://www.newyorkstategasprices.com/index.aspx?area=Hopewell%20Junction Lagrangeville: http://www.newyorkstategasprices.com/Lagrangeville/index.aspx (Gas buddy.com is not updating in real time, 75+ % of all stations in the above two are out of gas) Bunch of stations around have no Plus or Super, fewer stations are all out. Elmsford: http://www.newyorkgasprices.com/index.aspx?area=Elmsford Armonk: http://www.newyorkstategasprices.com/Armonk/index.aspx (one station is out of everything except regular) Stamford area: http://www.newyorkstategasprices.com/GasPriceSearch.aspx Spring Valley area: http://www.newyorkstategasprices.com/Spring%20Valley/index.aspx Middletown area: http://www.newyorkstategasprices.com/Middletown/index.aspx It makes no sense to input anything for Yonkers, Scarsdale, Mt. Vernon, NYC, Five towns, Great Neck, etc. Those places are either out of gas, or have no electricity, or the lines are seriously slammed. |

Looks like the folks in NJ cleaned everything out. There was a really long line at the sunoco in chester. |

WHen all this is over how many people will be buying Natural Gas Generators?? I considered NG when I bought a genny this week and opted for gasoline-powered because I don't want to be tied to a fixed power source that may not be available where the genny is needed. |

I know, I was trying to say that $5 a gallon isn't really that bad. If I needed it for a genny I'd pay $10 per just to not sit in line for 3 hours. And if it was exorbitantly expensive there would be more of a supply because only those who genuinely need it would pay that price, therefore keeping supplies of gas from running out. When supplies are limited prices go up. |

Natural gas seems to be one of the last things to cut out. This. Natural Gas seems to be the last thing to go; for this very reason we use it for heating, cooking, and hot water (we're on municipal water with a tower <1/4 mile from the house) and as soon as I can come up with them I will have a vehicle that runs on NG and another Generator that also uses NG or LPG (I'd buy a truck or van equipped for LPG as well) Before spilling all this, I had meant to mention that we have a vent less, wall mounted heater; it's automatic, doesn't require electricity, has low oxygen shut-off and best of all puts out a huge amount of heat, and while it's not enough to really keep the house warm, it keep the plumbing from freezing as well as keeping things tolerable. |

Well hate to info you they did in dutchess county. Rt 9 mobil was charging 6.00 a gallon for regular unleaded on friday. I fired off a comment to our AG stating people will remember next election what you did or didnt about price gouging. My car usually i spend 50's to fill it 118.00 to fill it on friday. Completely nuts. The kicker was i was in Durham NC this week for work and gas was 3.34 a gallon there.. Just shows how much NYS is ripping off the public with taxes. |
