I did find claims of NY owners while searching, but not really much info on them. I am wondering what the general consensus is?

I would be afraid it could be seen as an "adjustable" or "telescoping" stock.

Would be fine on a pre-ban lower though!

I don't think the fact that it allows easy bumpfire is illegal in NY...just the "adjustable" part.

As long as the ATF doesn't consider it a machine gun, that is..........and who knows with that.

I own one, and have video of me shooting it at Nassau County Range to prove it.

Your video was one i found while searching so i'm glad you replied because i do have a few questions
I was wondering do you have it on a Pre or Post ban lower? I also would like to know what do you think of it?
Finally i have to say if you took it upon yourself to test the murky NY waters at a public range with one of these you qualify for a "BBB" rating (that would be Bonafide Big Balls for them that don't know)

I asked this question some time back her in this forum and those in the know seemed to have a conensus opinion; that opinion was that it was not legal in NY as it mimiced the a "machine gun". Im sure that vendors will sell it to you but in my opinion, it wasnt worth the potential hassle (or Felony for that matter).

I have this stock on a postban lower, however the entire gun is assemble in "ban compliant" configuration.
I also would like to know what do you think of it?
As to what I think of it? It does exactly as its advertised to do. Nothing more, nothing less. I have found that no matter what gun I put it on though, it does not like steel case ammo. The cyclic rate is directly dependent on how much forward pressure you apply to the gun, and I have a tendency to put as much forward pressure as I can so the bolt is working so fast that the extractor just rips the rim off the steel cases as opposed to ejecting them. The gun loves brass case ammo though.

That's very kind of you to say, and yes I do tend to have bigger balls when it comes to do "questionable/crazy" shit.. lol In this particular case I just pulled it out and said the hell with it and went for it. It also helps that after I started firing it, I found out the RSO that day was also an ARF member and was curious to see it in action He said if anyone else had brought that in, they would have been asked to leave immediately.

As far as legalities are concerned, I never really worried about it because I'm exempt (LEO. sorry guys, I know its not fair) To be honest though, I still would have bought the thing even if I wasn't on the job. From a law enforcement aspect, I don't see it to be in violation of any current NYS laws, however I am neither a judge or a prosecutor so my opinion on this matter is moot.
Even as an active LEO, I still make sure to take the ATF letter with me when shooting this gun just in case I run afoul of any Federal Agents. State agencies have no leg to stand on with me though so I don't worry about them. Anyone that has land close by, or has a range that is willing to let us use this gun, please let me know and I will surely meet you there so you guys can play with it a bit.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I find it interesting that as an "Informed gun owner ..slash  active LEO" you feel this stock is not in violation of NY law. While your opinion on the matter maybe moot, it is however an "informed opinion".
I can totally understand anyone thats weary of catching charges over such an item, but if this thing is half as much fun as people that own them have claimed, then i gotta see what the fuss is all about
I do find it strange that while so many people cry about losing "There 2A rights", they seem to dismiss out of hand an item like this that is for all intents and purposes AT the moment  totally legal in all 50 states.

It's a bit odd to get used to at first, since the whole gun is recoiling in the stock, so it has a learning curve. The first time you ever shoot it, you almost certainly will be all over the place. The more you shoot it the more you can stay on target. Its not like shooting a real F/A gun, because this thing is slopping all around. It's still fun as all hell to shoot though, but you better have deep pockets. 30 round mags run real fast. I've been thinking of buying a Beta mag, but then I realized, 10 mag dumps and that's $$300+ and that can be done very fast.. lol

Yes i can see that reloading is the only way to go if you plan on shooting one very often. As for the learning curve, after watching this i'm thinking that i will pick it up quite quick lol
