There was something in the News about one of these protests going on in Watertown......all I could think was "what-ever" When these dip-wads started blaming the "TEA Party" for as many of the problems, they lost my interest. What I want to know is what we're going to do with the thousands of soldiers soon to be returning? I can't help but be reminded of the "Bonus Soldiers" of WWI We are doomed to repete history. |

"They dine on donated food; use sleeping bags, as well as public restrooms and portable toilets" and there's your answer. stop feeding them and they will go away like any other stray..... |
|
Think of all the resources they consume that could be used to help the real homeless population...protest what you want, but the "we need handouts" mentality is fucking disgusting. They are organized panhandlers, and their larger message is pretty much the same thing.
I started a thread about "Occupy New Haven" in the NE HTF where I witnessed the group of assholes cheering about the donations of food and heaters they received 100 yards or less from a line of homeless folks, who outnumbered them 3 to 1, waiting in line for free food from the church. I'm not entirely certain, but there may have been a few "protesters" in that line alongside the real homeless as well. |

I'm thinking we should pool resources and send them some bisquick and some Maple syrup of ipecac! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrup_of_ipecac

Got this off their FB page "supports us in our shared struggle for freedom and a more participatory democracy. We would like to give our thanks to SEIU 1199 for the donation of the large event tent, CWA Local 1122 for propane heaters, and the WNY Peace Center for the portable restrooms. Without essential donations such as these Occupy Buffalo would find it a challenge to keep a presence in Niagara Square. All of the kindness so many of you have shown will never be forgotten. We at Occupy Buffalo say from the depths of our hearts, " In Solidarity and Love, Thank You"!"
Any proud union members here? |

How the fuck can local law enforcement let this shit happen? It's a fucking joke that's making a historical part of the city look like a fucking dump. They should be ashamed of themselves! I wish those scumbags would go get a fucking job.
Man, this shit really hits a nerve. Is there no dignity anymore? Morals? And the media, and the left are encouraging this horseshit. Half of these retards don't even know why they are down there. |
| The funny thing is that while they claim to be pissed off about the Wall Street bailouts, I haven't seen them ONCE point out WHO actually came up with them: CHUCK SCHUMER, Wall Street's very own personal fetch boy. If they're looking for someone to hate, why not the most inherently unlikeable person on the planet? |

I would love to see "the 99%" kick his ass to the curb next time around... |

While I in no way support their protest, I fully support their right to peaceably assembly......somehow I don't think camping out in the Park while doing so is covered; we have laws to be observed, and things like permits to cover the rest.
The way these protesters behave is the way the media tried to portray the TEA Party as being. No Mayor wants to appear to have lost control of their City. (I'd say it does a number on their re-elect ability, except in New Orleans, but I digress). Do you have time time to attend one of these protests? I don't, and I'm betting that the protester hanging out are un-employed, Watch this all very closely; it's going to become much more intense in a lot more places. |
|
I have no problem with the tea party either. Both groups are protesting what they see as being wrong with our country. Both groups are right about some things and wrong about others.
People keep saying they're breaking the law. Well, if you pass enough laws, then it becomes impossible to maintain a peacable assembly, the right to which does not have a time limit. What does that say about those laws? In my book the US constitution trumps all laws. That includes the 2nd ammendment, and the 1st. |

Rubber bullet or bean bag to the head at 10' courtesy of the police for "unlawful assembly." I dunno, I just think that we as gun owners should at least have some sympathy for people who are being radicalized and marginalized by the media, whether we agree with them or not. "being radicalized and marginalized by the media" Radicalized? No thanks they are doing that themselves. Half the sighns at occupy oakland were communist signs. People cheering when speakers are calling for violent revolution and overthrow of the government. Yet the same assclowns were screaming for exevuting the "teabaggers" for treason. Fuck them you eat what you sow. |

Don't for a second take all of this at it's face value. There's a lot more to the occupy protests than meets the eye. All this "we don't have a leader" and the "no apparent goal" BS is subterfuge. They don't speak for me, or for anyone else I know.
Here's an interesting read for those interested: (link left cold on purpose) http://gardenserf.wordpress.com/2011/10/23/the-transnationalist-tell-behind-americas-2011-protests/ Lot's of interesting info and opinion in Gardenserf's site... Enjoy. Proud member of the 53%. |

http://www.buffalonews.com/city/city-hall/article616222.ece Russ Thompson will need to remind the council of that next time he organizes a TeaNY event |

The Albany DA said he won't prosecute anyone as long as they don't hurt any cops and don't damage the park. Sounds like he's scared the local colleges would flood the park if the curfew was enforced. He did sound nervous and confused when he heard they were putting up a yurt. "A what?" |

Police clear protesters from Lafayette Square
http://www.buffalonews.com/city/communities/downtown/article682498.ece I saw their little camp yesterday when I rode by on the train. It looked like shit and made the square look like shit tents and tarps with some writing spray painted on, I didn't get a good enough look to be able to read what was written but what did Brown expect? he's allowed the other encampment for so long that there is a precedent set for setting up camp in other squares and parks. The city also set the precedent of free permits. So I'm hoping that conservative groups will ask for their free permits next time they want a rally and if they get denied sue the city for violating their rights and for violating equal protection |

Also, one of the councilmen was on the radio complaining about the encampments as it violated the cities ordinance about lingering in parks after dusk and the Mayor blatantly lets them violate it. |
