I was wondering if anyone still has build parties around WNY? I would definitely be up for one, I am looking for a stripped lower locally and then maybe a few of us could set something up.  I was thinking sometime in October. Anyone have any ideas?

It's not really worth it to have a build party for AR15s because you can build one in about 30 minutes, but if you want to build your own you are more than welcome to stop by my place and use my tools. I guide you along with assembling your rifle in case you don't know how to already. Where in WNY are you?

And for those on Long Island, I'll put together your AR for free myself, so long as it doesn't involve headspacing a barrel.. lol. Putting together AR's is not a difficult or time consuming task. It's rather fun.

I'm out in WNY in Lockport, I figured building from scratch including the barrel etc. I wasn't thinking of just plopping a complete upper on a lower. I guess your right.

When I mentioned the 30 minutes I was referring to building it from scratch too! It really doesn't take that long at all. Assembling the LPK and then torquing on the barrel is all that take any time. Everything else is like Legos.

I'm in Springwater (about 1 hr. 45 mins away) so if you do want to build one from scratch my tools/shop are open to you, just give me a week or two notice so I can make sure my schedule is free.

Very cool, thank you for the offer, once I get the pieces together I may have to take you up on it.

My Wife built her first from scratch this past winter. To assemble a complete rifle took just 3.5 hours with me watching over her shoulder. And that was from a pile of parts.

I really wasn't too worried about the assembly aspect, just the hanging out aspect of it, lol. Just seemed like something to do, I can't see having any assembly problems per say.
