Wife called me at work and said you got something in the mail today and you need to see it ASAP. I'm in the middle of my work day and was in client meetings. I said can it wait? She said NO!
So now I'm getting worried. She comes by work and hands me a copy of Field and Stream. I look at her oddly and she smiles. I said this couldn't wait til tonight? She said open it up. So... I open it up and there's an envelope in there from the County Sherrif Dept. It was my pistol permit. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My wife knew how anxious I was for it to arrive so she made my day. Ran off and got the pistol (Beretta 92) and went straight to the range. Will share pics in the next few days when I find the camera.

Congrats. Which county and how long ? Saratoga County. Took the class at the end of October, was able to get into the Sherrif dept at the of December, and just got the permit yesterday. Compared to others, I didn't have that bad of a wait. However, for me, it seemed like eternity

waiting on those pics!!! The 92FS pistols are real easy shooting, and incredibly accurate to boot.
Only negative thing I find about them is the fact the safety is on the slide. Sometimes if you overhand pull the slide back to either lock it in place, or to release it onto a freshly loaded mag, you can accidentally engage the safety...that means you will accidentally drop the hammer also, back to DA...then your SOL as you have to disengage the safety then shoot DA vs SA. in the mean time, heres some 92FS porn to share. Monroe County (Rochester) is great for full carry and for amendments.
No wait to add a pistol...just bring bill of sale and permit to county clerk, get the slip, and pick up your pistol. The county clerk's office even sets up shop on Saturdays at the Rochester gun show, so vendors can actually make sales...pretty great of them. But really, we shouldn't have to deal with any of this stupid shit in the first place. |

I'd love to file a complaint against Dutchess County for the bullshit wait on amendments, but I dont even know where to begin. The lady at the office told me 4-5 weeks until I get the paperwork to actually add and pickup my pistol from the shop, but they act like we should be happy we got it in 2 weeks. |
| pshh, thats probably the only thing Nassau county does right.. You can buy all your purchase documents upfront. You go in January and picked up 5 or 10, and theyre good all year. Then you can go whenever you please to purchase a pistol right there on the spot and leave with it, then you have 10 days to go to the license section and have it added to your permit which they also do right there on the spot.. |

When you already have 20+ handguns you already waited 4-6 weeks for each...then why delay someone another 4-6 weeks for an "approval" for another pistol...for when they already have a damn permit anyhow? It in itself , the waiting, is full retard on the countys' behalf. I love when they put me on hold from buying more pistols back when I got my permit...as they were wondering why I thought I needed so many, so quickly.... ATF put the multiple handgun purchase system into place to stop GUN RUNNERS / traffickers....not to scrutenize people who collect. Apparently my pair of H&K USP pistols that run $700-800 are very common for criminals and ending up on the streets of "da hood". Dont make me repost my letter from the supreme court justice!!
To the OP. Your Beretta have standard sights? In the 2nd and 3rd pics it looks like it has target sights installed or something? Maybe its just my eyes though, I dont trust em myself
Luckily Beretta mags are aplenty, easy to find, and relatively inexpensive (under $25 for prebans normally). I love that fact about these pistols. |
