New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Salutes Sen. Schumer for His Support of Remington Arms Co.
TROY, NY (03/23/2011)(readMedia)–– NYSRPA is pleased to hear that Remington Arms Co. will be expanding their business at the Ilion plant to include the Bushmaster line of AR-15 style rifles. As the nation's oldest gunmaker, the Remington name has been synonymous with quality firearms for almost 200 years. Senator Charles Schumer has long been a strong supporter of the Remington facility and we were tickled pink that through his tireless efforts and inspirational leadership New York State will be the new home of "the black rifle." Of course, without customers available to buy these fine products, the economic engine of Herkimer County will sputter to a halt. Therefore, NYSRPA calls upon Sen. Schumer to endorse repealing onerous federal and state laws prohibiting ordinary citizens from possessing such firearms, magazines and accessories, and in particular the 2000 New York law signed by Governor George Pataki. NYSRPA officials are available to assist Sen. Schumer in this endeavor and we eagerly await his response. Quoted:
I hate Schumer so much blood shoots out my eyes, but he has gone to bat for upstate industries before and, sadly, accomplished more than our often useless and disorganized state Republican party Hitler was boon for German industries too... I'm just sayin... |

He is also not the one responsible for our pistol permit issues and AWB, although he does wield some influence over state politics. |

Chuck's father was born and raised in Utica, if I remember correctly. Love him or hate him, pandering or not, he does make his rounds upstate. Seriously, though, it is things like this that can change the way politicians think. It isn't the defense or law enforcement industry that keeps the AR industry afloat, it is citizens purchasing for sport, recreational and defensive purposes. One other thing, his positions on the Second Amendment are often terrible, but Schumer has a very sharp mind. I can't believe I just typed that, because I can't stand his politics on 99 percent of the issues.

I personally liken it to letting Joseph Mengle cut the ribbon on a new hospital in Isreal .
I realize he's whoreing for votes by trying to get goverment contracts for the new sniper rifle and other stuff but I just kinda shook my head and there was a little throw-up in my mouth. I'm glad to see NYSRPA point out his hipocricy in theeir press release, hope they crash a brady bunch function and give him an award for gun salseman of the year! Kinda like the second Amendment Foundation did you Carl Rowan back in the 80's!
