The real question is can we send some punches back the other way next year, not just duck and dodge the ones they send.

ALBANY - After a change in the majority, a coup, a five week stalemate,

and another change in the majority, the state Senate has recessed for the summer.

Senators stayed in session well into Friday morning, not adjourning until after 4a.m.

The biggest accomplishment of the late night meeting was a ban on text messaging while driving.

The bill is a match of an Assembly bill. S it will go straight to the governor for his signature.

Another report shows $85 million in "pork" spending or member items is being divided.

The Democrats recieve the biggest cut of these funds since they, once again, hold the majority.

Acting Senate President Malcom Smith recieves the largest amount to give out to civic groups,

non-profit organizations and popular causes. He will get $5.5 million.
