| I have recently purchased a 450 bushmaster and I am wondering if it is legal to take the follower from the 5 round mag, and place it in a 30 round pre-ban mag to make my 450 bushy able to hold 10 shots. |

My only worry would be that placing the 450 follower in the mag might mean manufacturing a "new" magazine? Only because you are creating a different mag not because its a new mag follower. $10 says you don't get any answer that is close to any state law. You're probably right about not getting an accurate answer notarpole

| no, the mag bushmaster gives you with the 450 is a 20 round, 223 mag, but has a different follower to function with the 450 bullet, and a stiffer spring to decrease the mag capacity. The 30 rounder I have is a preban 223 mag, and from what I have read, you can take the follower out of the 30 rounder, and place the bushmaster 450 follower in, while leaving the regular 223 spring in behind the 450 follower. This supposedly allows up to 10 rounds to be in mag. I am just wondering if it's legal, thank for the advice. |

Am I missing something? How is manufacturing a 10 round mag using any pre/postban mag body including one made from scratch illegal? this. you're creating a 10 round mag. completely legal to own in ny no matter what date. I agree. I was thinking high capacity for some reason, my apologies. My brain often has the reliability of a 1911
