I'm new to holo /red dot sights which do you suggest? What is the difference?  Price is a factor.

ITS THAT EASY....

now back to your regularly scheduled thread....

for a 150 bucks, get a vortex strikefire.

a much better recommendation however, is also a big plus one to the other responses, save up a little longer, and buy an eotech 511/512 or aimpoint ML2. those are the most economical tier one optics you can buy. they are also GREAT sights.

+1 for Eotech and Aimpoint. Its worth it to save up a few more dollars for one. If you ever do go Eotech, try not to get the ones that take N Type batteries, i personally find them hard to find at most places. Could just be my luck

i have both N and AA variety EOtechs, the N is a 511, the AA is a newer 517. both are incredible optics.  as far as batteries are concerned, ive gotten mine online in the past, but also, check out best buy, since circuit city sold them for pretty cheap before that company fucked itself, best buy most likely has them for around the same prices, and the stock should be plentiful .

yeah thats where i usually go to get them but i wish regular stores would carry them. Would be sick to walk 100 yards to the 711 and pick some up haha. I have the 511 on mine and i love it just because its shorter than the AA types.

If you're going to get an Aimpoint, get a CompC3.  Cheaper than the ML2, but can't go as deep underwater (CompC3=17', ML2=80').  Also the CompC3 can be had in a 2MOA version, and I think the ML2 is only offered with a 4MOA dot.  I prefer 2MOA, but that's me.

I'll be picking up a CompC3 in a few weeks when my funds are right.
