Wow, I really would have thought that number would be a lot higher. Of course, anytime you poll a population, there has to be some margin of error, right?

I think many people, especially in NJ, are private about firearm ownership.

12% sounds about right, think of the big poplulation centers where most people dont own guns (at least not legally)

I am proud to be the 1st of my friends to but a gun and since then I have had 3 other friends exercise their 2nd amendment rights in the last 2 months.  The more legal gun owners there are, the safer our rights are.

Perhaps it should have been stated:

"about 12 percent of homeowners admit to having a firearm."

That is not usually the kind of information one volunteers if they are smart.

In the woods here, maybe 12% don't have firearms....and that is the city pweople that moved out here
