OK,
This does not have a threaded barrel nor can it accept a flash suppressor/silencer, etc because of the barrel extending past the threaded gasblock. from what I read on the NY AWB besides the folding stock this would be legal in NY? So I would not need to permanantly attach the thread protector nut, righ?

I don't know what a threaded gas block is.

Is there a bayonet lug under there?

Otherwise I would think you would be okay if the stock was pinned permanently open

Right where the front sight is it is also the gasblock in one mold. Right in front of the sight there is a nut screwed on and thats where the threads are. Normally there is not a barrel that goes past it so you can use a muzzle device but on this there is no way to screw one on since the barrel is there. There is no bayo lug......

I've wondered the same thing many times. The fact is that it does not have a threaded barrel. Does this matter if you are arrested for an AWB charge and are forced to explain this fact in court?

A grenade launcher exists for Bulgarian/Russian/East German 24x1mm threads.  Under the expired AWB, BATFE ruled that anything attached to this type of gas block would have to be permanently attached.  They exempted the Romanian 22x1mm gas block because no grenade launcher existed for it.  I would tack weld it to CMA.  You would not want to be a test case.
