Hello to all. Q: How do you I.D. a pre ban USGI 30 Rnd mag ? I want to "one for one" but need to know whats good to go for those liveing behind the lines before i post any offer to trade. *edit*They have been in my possesion since the late 1980's , black followers and no date stamps. basicly looking for info that proves preban production so as not to get any one into trouble. thanks in advance |
| There are a few ways, but only one is definitive. If it has a pre-'94 date stamp on the mag body, you can be 100% sure. You can also find prebans in sealed and dated factory plastic bags. If the mag has no date stamp, it may or may not be preban. If it shows lots of wear, that's another good possibility. Good luck. |

All the .Mil mags that i have seen in the last few years have had at least a date(mostly 04,05,06),the pre 04 dated had both date and script. However i have seen none older than 00 So basicly, for NY purposes, does No date, No script and black follower work for pre ban purposes as far as USGI mags go? |
| I got my mags from a dealer in upstate NY. He told me they were preban and have no floorplate stamp and green followers and slightly scratched paint. I wonder if NO stampings on the mag at all mean it can be from whatever era you want it to be from. But again, dealers have been known to give false information. Never go by what they're selling in their shop. |
