| A friend of mine is looking into making his .22 look a little more "evil". He asked me if they're were any .22 hi cap mags made before the ban? I have no clue, so what say you arfcom? Also any reccomendations for replacement stocks top rails etc. to pimp out a .22? |
I'm assuming that's a preban 10/22. I want one! |
I don't know but come on up to Middletown this weekend to the fun show. Collector Rifle and Ammo always seems to have the eagle 30 rounders. Many people may say those magazines suck as they are totally made of a cheap clear plastic but I actually find them to be quite functional magazines. |
Right I understand that, just wanted to be sure I could get a legal mag and still have an evil feature. |
yep.... no problems |
Don't fool yourself or others into thinking that there's a such thing as a preban mag in NJ, it's either less than 15rds and legal or over 15rds and illegal. The NJ law is much worse than NY or CA where they gave them a little leeway. |
NYS Penal Law:
I'm guessing this means, you can have 30rd .22 mags? Not sure if the 30rd .22 mags count as "Tubular" however. I guess it depends on your definition of tubular? |
Yeah, what maddog said.
Marlin Model 60's have tubular mags, and are legal in NY. They hold 14 (I think) rounds. |
Not true. Any +10 ammunition feeding device (with the exception of an attached tubular .22 rimfire) including a fixed integral box magazine or an integral tubular magazine is still considered a LCAFD and is illegal to possess if manufactured after 09-13-1994. AFAIK the BATF did allow certain model lever action cowboy rifles in specific calibers to be manufactured during the ban with +10 tubular magazines. |
| Ah, I know what your talking about now, the things with a plunger/spring that feeds the rounds rearward under the barrel. Someone really should make one that loops around 3 times hey I don't think I've had the "tube" style jam once. |
