Anybody know of a good smith to pin a break on my AR?

Honestly, I looked and I couldn't find one that would do it for a reasonable price (Someone quoted me 250 Bucks!).  I'd highly recommend sending it over to Steve at ADCOFirearms.com.  His turn around time is lightning quick and his prices are fair.  If you absolutely must do it yourself, I'd drill the brake/dimple the barrel yourself and take it to a local welder that can put a quick weld over the pin.  I've gone this route as well and it cost me 20 bucks.

But then you generally end up needing refinishing. It needs to be 1000º-1200º solder (don't recall offhand).

Personally I've had no luck with it. I've silver soldered plenty of sights on guns, as well as a few other firearms related odds and ends. But I'll be damned if I had any luck soldering the brake on my home build AK. Looked good.. seemed good... I'd shoot it a while and she'd be loose when I was done.  After 3-4 attempts at this I gave up and it got welded.
