No, saving that for the next one

This lower came from a DPMS 20" HBAR A2, my first AR. I sold off the upper but kept the A2 stock for another project down the line.

OK.  Maybe a dumb ? im assuming that the grippod you have on the AR would be NY legal too.  I know that they frown on foregrips but is it classified as a bipod?

Who 'frowns' on foregrips? They are perfectly legal on rifles.

22. "Assault weapon" means (a) a semiautomatic rifle that has an
ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the
following characteristics:
(i) a folding or telescoping stock;
(ii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of
the weapon;
(iii) a bayonet mount;

+1.  Foregrips are perfectly legal in NY.
