I read some posts saying you should have only mags with the pre-ban dates stamped on them. Now for my question

I have some Labelle and other brand mags that have no dates stamped on the bodies, but they came in sealed bags that had the pre-ban dates on them. I threw the bags out, didn't even think about saving them. Is this a potential problem???

IIRC, the mag forum has a link to a list of manufacture dates of various mags. If the company in question stopped stamping before the cutoff, print off appropriate web pages and keep in gun case.

I have a crap load of preban mags...or at least I think they're preban.

Some are still in their sealed bags, a few have date stamps...

I thought the deal was that a post ban mag carries the mark...that the post ban mag is the one that is immediately identifiable as such.

Hmmmm

General consensus is that as long as your mags are pre-ban then you are good to go...if you have bags fine, if not then don't worry about it. There are a whole lot of magazines that are preban and only a few mags made by a few companies were dated prior to 94. I think that most of us have undated prebans. I do have a fair number of dated prebans as well but I don't really worry about my mags. If you are really concerned with it then you can always use mags from companies that weren't in existence post 94. See the mag faq referenced above for more information on these. The biggest concern is to make sure that what you have is, in fact, preban. In your case you don't really have any question since you got them new in the wrapper which was dated.

Prior to the expiration of the Federal AWB any unmarked mag was presumed to be "preban'. It wasn't until after the Federal ban expired in 2004 and unmarked postban mags became available again did it become a concern in NY. There may have been other's but I only recall  Center Industries USGI preban mags having a date stamp on them.

Stick with dated/undated USGI preban mags that were made by manufacturer's that produced mags prior to 09-1994 and you should be fine. Of course as always you're on your own.
