| LOL just learned something new! If it wasn't explained to me when I saw it I would have thought the AR-15 was full auto! |
Well to tell you the truth I haven't tried it YET....I just saw a video on youtube about it. Not to mention the poor man's machine gun! Going to have to try that too! |
Bumping an AR or an AK type, will not break parts!!! Been doing it for years with many guns, never a problem. Now bumping on "anygun" might be different, but gun built on a FA format,it's just the norm. |
ive sen that too, too dangerous for my likes...hands are just TOO close to the muzzle...no room for error...and if there is error, your going to lose part of your hand. |
What's the deal with having to continuously rechamber a new round? |
Now you're not bump firing, you're treading on thin ice. Remember if a shoelace can be a machinegun, there's no telling what a rubber band is. ![]() |
hammer not being reset. |
according to these guys who have contacted the ATF rubber bands are ok...www.poormans-machinegun.com/PMMG2.html check out the video on youtube |
bump firing glock |
Rifle doesnt jam, it doenst feed, refer to post above where I made mention its from the hammer not resetting. Which is why by chambering a new round I get the hammer reset, so ready to fire again. Semi auto FCG, being bumped...isnt designed for it. |
Well shit, you learn something new every day. If SHTF I'll be alright! I'll throw some rubber bands into my tac vest.

You're not disappointing me at all. You're just throwing out TMI on an open forum and could be perceived as a suggestion of illegal activity. And these days that's enough to pique someone's interest. Nevermind the fact that you are an Eagle Scout honor student who does charity work with underprivilidged left handed red headed step children with AIDs. As I read it(didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night) the letter doesn't seem to say a rubber band is OK at all. To the contrary it says that a rubber band may not be OK. Let me restate the letter....
So they're not saying it is okay, they're simply restating their current interpretation of the law and what may make something a machine gun. That being said it absolutlely is a dangerous gray area. Click here and go halfway down. Click on the letter from the BATFE FTB regarding a shoelace with loops at each end that enabled a semi auto to continously fire being deemed a machine gun. So if your rubber band carries the recoil's inertia and causes the gun to fire rapidly, who's to say what it is or isn't. And seeing as how the ATFs eval procedured are dubious at best it's a risk you may not want to take. The point is this. The ATF doesn't have to be right, only have a reasonable belief that it MAY be a machine gun. That will cost you tens of thousands of dollars, a job, a life etc. You can see from the link above they don't even have to use any semblence of common sense to deem something a machine gun. BTW, the site you linked the .doc off of is sprinkled with "suggest" and of the "opinion" type language. Also the letter is over a year old. The Akins Accelrator has since been deemed a machine gun by the ATF. And if you think something actually being perfectly legal protects you do not underestimate the ATFs ability to completely end run that and win a conviction anyways. Especially when one of our own is convicted. ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=6&t=507483 edited because I kan spel gud. |
Once upon a time....I lived in Succasunna. Looks like I should be glad I don't anymore.
