Just wanted to give everyone a little FYI. Almost had a deal set up with TAILGUNNER (who was more than willing to accommodate me being a complete pain in the @$$) to purchase a used Arsenal SLR-95. Posted ill take it and everything, call the FFL in this case, Buffalo Gun Center to do the transfer, give him the send FFL's info, and then they ask "What is being sent?" So i told them it was an arsenal ak, to which he responds "We, sell those in the store," and then said nothing more, so I wait for him and he resonded " Are you still there?" i told him yes and he says " Well, im not gonna transfer something I can sell you in there store, come on in, we'll sell you one" and hangs up the phone."

Ya know, considering I've just purchased a Les Baer TRS from them and STG58 in the past 3 months, they just lost a customer.

Here is what they did to me. I just got home from from Iraq and wanted to blow some cash on a couple rifles. I went to there store and spent 4000.00 I bought a M1A super match and was in the market for a AR I was asking about a pre ban colt they had and the guy there tells me your in the military you can buy this new Bushmaster Le he stated that as long as I had military ID I was good to go, so like the dumb ass not knowing a thing about the laws at the time, I bought it. I went to the range the following weekend and was shooting and a local off duty police officer started asking me questions about my new Ar. He tells me that this rifle is illegal, and there is no law that exempts military personal from the ban. He was cool and told me to make it go away so someone else would not bust and charge me. So I call the gun center and talk to their manager I wont us his name we will just us a fake name to protect the innocent so how about Asshole.
So asshole tells me they didn't sell me that rifle I must be mistaken. I say so this carbon copy receipt is a fiction of my imagination. So then he asks the sale's persons name on the receipt. I tell him he puts me on hold. 5 minutes later comes back and Say's the best they will do is give me 500.00 for it back in store credit, Take it or leave it. I told him to go fuck himself and took the weapon to my Cousin's house in PA. I paid 1000.00 for it new. They sell me a illegal weapon and offer me half of what I paid in store credit. They are lucky I didn't get charged because I would own that place right now. I second the motion buy at Johnson's great people good price's

Gee, this is a surprise!! Right.
Well known answers from an establishment that is well known to mistreat and disrespect it's customers. Walk around most WNY gunshows and keep your ears open in the aisles and you will hear alot of BGC horror stories.  If they had as much customer relations as they had shitty attitude that place would be a SUPERSTORE.

Keep your eyes open for a VERY EBR friendly shop coming to an area within driving distance of you. It'll be awhile but it'll be worth the wait.

I would have talked to the local DA.  The publicity for raiding a shop selling illegal "assault" weapons would have been too much for them to resist.  You should have ended the conversation with "Well, I guess I am going to the DA.  See you on TV."  Then hung up.

BGC sucks, I went their looking for some new rings to put on my M1A, they tried giving me some hunks of junk for $3. So I explained to them how the kick would most likely rip them off the mount by Smith Enterprise. The worker said "Smith Enterprise.. never heard of them" and he acted like he knew everything. So I left. Next time I went, they had "FACTORY USGI MAGS" wrapped in the greasy wax paper. So I asked if I could see if they were indeed USGI mags. The older gentleman said "see, there they are" so then I explained for the price at which they were selling them, I wanted to make sure if I bought a large quantity I would get what I wanted. So miserabbly he hands one over, then I gave his attitude right back and lectured him on how they were in fact not USGI mags, but rusty hunks of junk. He then replies to all the other workers and customers in the store "Hey guys, look at this kid, he thinks he knows his *%&#". Yep, that was enough to make me walk out forever, congratulations BGC on your loss of a customer. Maybe if you would have better customer service, you would have kept some customers, and made a good deal of money. So warning to everyone, stay away from this place, oh and forgot to mention, they had some illegal switchblades that same day I went, but the guy acted like their was a Pre-ban law with those!

Places like that exist already but may not be "shops" with open to the public fulltime business hours.

+1 just found that out first hand

I also am not a fan of BGC and will only go there if I need to pick up something that I simply don't have on hand such as 8mm or 30.06. I think it depends on whose working there and who you talk to, some are better than others. I've been treated horribly and been treated decently. I stopped trying to correct gun store employees a long time ago. No good can come of you, the customer, correcting the guy who supposed to be selling you the product and should know about it. When they are wrong, I let it go. Who cares.

Absolutely. Great people to deal with, and I give them my business whenever possible.

BGC is for city folk who want to check out the Deagles wit da Beamz.
I don't buy from them unless they have something I really need. Granted, they have a huge inventory, and they CAN be talked down in price, but why fight for it? Johnson's will almost always give you a better price, no hassles. They are worth the drive (actually, not such a long drive for me).

What's up..........none of you guys like supporting your local gunshow dealers?
And don't give me that shit that they are higher priced and more nasty than these local stores...........I know better.
There was ALOT of good ammo, EBR's and such at the little bitty Akron Fire Hall show this weekend and Clarence is 2 weeks away. I know there's a couple local guys that do transfers and are much friendlier than any of the above listed stores, much cheaper and EBR friendly

Arrogent, condescending jerks at BGC for the most part.

I have a small time FFL holder handle my transfers.

Watch the anti-gun assembly bills, one of them pretty much ensures there will be NO small time shops/dealers.

I will vouch for this guy.  You can reach him any time by email and he's home at that phone # in the evenings.

Like most of you I don't like Buffalo Gun Center for their customer service and the $40 transfer fee just adds insult to injury.  Johnson's is good but it's just too far for me.

I would think you would want to use someone who is home during the day so your new gift to yourself is not left on his front porch for the world to see/steal.

Consider that when you choose an FFL. Also consider his knowledge of the toys we play with, is he aware of the state laws? Is he flexible in his hours for pickup and are his fees in line. More than $30 on long guns is too much, handguns $34-40 is max.
Moreover, what is he like? Assholes don't deserve business. Period.
On the flip side we cannot be disrepectful and rude and expect them to be eager for our business.

Check gunsamerica.com. You can search for transfer dealers by area code. Most of the established gun shops around here won't do transfers. I'd bought probably 10 guns through a shop in Syracuse but when I asked them to do a transfer they gave me a .

Typical for Buffalo Gun Center.

Nothing new though, they treated people like that since the early 90's that I know of personally.

Another +1 for Johnsons in Lockport. To bad John Runk is no longer around- he was a great guy to deal with there.
