Maybe we should get all the dates for shows in Albany, Syracuse, and Rochester so we can plan out any gatherings even small ones.

The Syracuse show is the nicest of all of these (biggest too) and probably would make a good gathering for many of us, especially the Western NY crew! [=)]

Bah! It has snowed, all you Westerners will be trapped in the house by lake effects until at least April. If you run low on supplies, let me know. My friend's nephew flies a C-130 on skis for the NY ANG. If he can land at the South Pole, he should be able to manage Rochester....

There is a small (300)table show in Rochester this weekend.

4 people are coming,including SP-10

The show is certainly not worth travelling far for.The Syracuse show is usually in April, following the one in Rochester in the Spring(800 tables)

Syracuse is probably better for regional get together!

I thought the Rochester Show was this weekend. I've heard it's kind of small, but 79Transam and I might go, does anyone want to set a time to meet there?

I'm hoping that guy I ran into at the Syracuse show with the Glock mags is there. He was selling mags that usually go for $ 100-130 for $ 50 and less, I'm still kicking myself for not buying more mags than I did and reselling them. I could use ammo etc anyway.

Damn Bob!   Isn't that what I said?

Yes,the one this weekend is small and kind of worthless, but like SP-10 says nothing else to do in Jan,so maybe it is OK to go!

We can meet at a specified time (sometime between 12 and 2PM ?)at the FRONT entrance, but inside the place (place on the side after you pay).

Somebody pick a time and post it!

That must be where I heard it-ha ha.

How about 12:30 pm at the front entrance?

I just got off the phone with Steve (79Transam) and he said he would probably come along. If anyone wants to buy AR mags off him, you might want to let him know ahead of time. He also has some Beretta 92 mags, I think they are US manufacture, but he might have some Italians

Oh I see how it is...  Dates for gun shows in NY...  What about dates for shows in NJ?

Oh, wait a minute...

THERE ARE NO SHOWS IN NJ!!!!  (at least, not any worth driving 100 feet to go to)

I've never been to any of them so I can't say whether they're any good or not.

I've been to both the Poughkeepsie and the Goshen shows...The Goshen show's pretty decent, usually. The Poughkeepsie one has a lot of the usual suspects there, too. Usually I just go to the Goshen show; it's closer.

It's weird...things come in waves at those shows. Couple years ago, you'd go blind before you found a Johnson rifle anywhere.

Now, you can't barely throw a rock inside the fairgrounds without hitting one...

You must mean the Middletown show at the Orange County Fairgrounds.  The Poughkeepsie and the Middletown shows are run by Mid-Hudson Promotions Inc. so you would see mostly the same vendors at both shows.  There are a couple of vendors that have decent prices for ammo.  The Kingston show at Tech City is run by another promoter and is not worth wasting your time on.

Yeah, that's the one, Middletown, sorry. *smacks self*

My memory for names of locations is kind of...non-functional.

I can drive ya there, but I can't remember the name of the place

Yah, one of the guys who sells ammo (he dosen't take credit cards), also had, a little while ago, M1A/M14 mags for around $40/pop. In this area, that's *damn* good pricing.

It's snowing pretty heavily (been snowing all day) and on top of that EdSr is pretty sick and I am starting up on a cold I think...

Aimless, let me know if you guys want to cancel tomorrow or maybe try on Sunday if the weather is better. I have no clue what it's like In 'Cuse as I have been on my PC all day! [=P]

Goatmeister-
Yeah the weather doesn't bother Steve and I 'cause we are such hickbillies, but if you and your dad don't feel good forget it. Steve has bought too many guns this year anyway (he buys a couple everytime I take him to a shop or show!). Check your IM when you get a minute.

You know when/where?  I've grown up on weak shows, but its something for my father and I to do.  I also picked up a beaut of a Waltham pocket watch at the last one I went to in 1993.

I was sicker than a dog for the Rochester show.Did you make it?

Hi Ed,

I doubt I will go to Albany, unless B&J reopens. The show itself is usually poor.

Yes, Doug, Wally and I made it to Rochester, a bit late (~11:30 AM). I didn't think to look for you until almost 1PM, and thought we had missed you. Sorry to hear you were sick.

There's one this coming weekend (Jan 18/19) in Poughkeepsie, if I recall correctly..
