I was recently talking to several dealers at the Matamoras PA gun show this weekend and received mixed comments about the legality of CETME's in NJ. Some of them said yes, while others said no. As long as it like my Postban XM15 (No bayo lug / flash suppresor/ etc) it would be legal right? Or are the illegal all together. My guy that I do all my business in PA with says they are NJ legal since they come with a 10round mag, no bayo lug, and just a muzzle brake. Is this true? Also is $550 a good price for one after taxes / shipping costs? Thanks in advance |

With that said, is there any other military NJ legal rifle out there I can legally own? For some reason I like to shoot military type / looking rifles new and old. Here is what I already have, XM15, SKS, M1 Garand, K98 Mauser, Mosin Nagants snipers and rifles. I'm kind of looking for modern guns now. I have my eyes on a PTR-91 (I think its PTR and not PRT correct me if im wrong please I don't want to look like an idiot hesitant Any suggestions? Semi or Bolt action, doesnt matter. Can't wait to get out of college so I can move to a FREEish state . I also love to shoot shoulder busters, don't know why but love them. |
Real Dragunov or Romak? The Dragunov is legal here. Romak's are also legal. Lugerman your Izzy heavy barrel FAL, what do they call that muzzle device on it? I thought they were flash hiders. |
Yes as stated the Dragunov's are legal. No pistol grip stock and no bayonet lug. The flashider is an original Izzy that has been filled to comply with our dumb law. This was done by the builder during the Federal AWB. |
| High caps must be permanentley blocked. I think you can get away with a rivet in the side that wont let the follower go past 15 rounds. Mine have wooden blocks on the inside that stop the follower and the floor plates welded on so the blocks can not be removed. |
