I thought I read that the maximum time for a pistol permit was 6 months. I just picked up my permit from Ontario county and it says the minimum is 6 months, and that if I dont hear anything from them in 1 year to call them and they'll track it. Sounds crazy.

I believe that NYS law is that it can take a maximum of 6 months, when i applied for my permit in nov.  the woman at the permit office told me to call her in 3 months if i havent heard from them yet.

NYS law mandates it be 6 months or less.  Try contacting the NYS Rifle & Pistol Association to see if they're aware of this situation.

That's odd, but if you just filed I would give it a few months before doing anything. You'll probably get it within the 6 month time period, I bet they are just using older forms.

I was told that I can expect to get mine 7 MONTHS after they receive my fingerprints.  (Erie County)

that doesnt mean shit though, whos gona get their pee pee smacked if they break this law??

my C&R license took FARRRRRRRRRRR longer than it is mandated to take maximum, and ya know what?  ATF didnt give a shit.  They told me they have "priorities" and they would get to it when they had "time".
