Hi,

I just joined the website forum since I hope to purchase an AR-15 from PA and bring it to NJ. My question what is the legality issue regarding a Bushmaster AR-15 in NJ? I have been reading all of the NJ Law documents and they are confusing and keep contradicting every other sentence. It also referes to documents which I can not find since every (P.L. 1990 c.039). Is the AR-15 age 18 or 21 (I have a Firearms Purchaser Card and currently 20). [I know i some states Assault Rifles are 21]

Here is what I am getting if LEGAL.

Purchased from PA:
Bushmaster AR-15
Comes with a Hi-Cap mag but the gun dealer is swapping it out with a 10rd mag and refunding me the difference.
No Muzzle Break or Flash Suppressor.
No Bayo Lug
No folding or adjustable stock.
Carry Handle.

Any responses would be nice, the guy is giving me a brand new one for $700 since I do all my gun business right through him.

Note: All my other 21 guns are purchased from PA and don't know if the documentation is different for the AR-15 or not.

Thanks in advance.

18 is fine for rifles here in the People's Republik of Noo Joisey
The features you listed:
all is well EXCEPT the receiver MUST NOT BE MARKED AR-15.  XM-15 is Bushmaster's post-ban model number for the NJ-legal series

And welcome to the board, varack!

Thanks for the reply, I left the dealer in PA the note that it has to be an XM-15 not an AR-15 and the ntoe about the muzzle break. Hopefully I can get it the day after Christmas (parents are paying for it as an early B-day present).
