My Gawd, why would anyone want a flash-hider?
That's enough to make any gun-hateing crybaby break out in tears.
Seriously; What kind of ammo were you using? Most of the Communist ammo lacked flash suppresent in the powder, makeing the pretty colors.
Try some Russian 7.62x54R ammo: it makes HUGE pumpkin ball out of carbine length barrels.

I get it.  You pretended to buy her the M4, but it was really for you and she got the short commie gun.

Are you joining the SJSC?

The wifey is gonna get a nice tan with that flash, but the glasses need to come off the head and on the face.  You got to watchem every minute.

Oh my sweetness! Try an M44 Mosin/Nagant for more flame throwing fun!

Don't forget, Krinks have around 8 inches of barrel.... MAYBE.  Fire rounds designed to be used in a 16 inch barrel and that is a lot of unburned powder... flash suppressant or not.

That's no flashider. It's a 8"barrel extension because that Krink only has a 8" barrel. Awesome pic and great to shoot on a cloudy day!!

The ammo was basic Wolf 5.45. And I have seen this pumpkin is which you speak. I don't remember where or when. But the visual is awsome!
What I gotta do is, get out with LUGERMAN. With the right angle and timeing. I could get a pic in stereo. Now that would be
I hear much about these Mosin's. I will investigate!

So......The wife has been wanting an AR type for awhile now. She left to go fishing on Thursday. By Friday I was lonely. After doing my invoices and bills and blablabla. I found that I had a better week than I thought. After a few IM's a phone call and a trip to PK90's compound. An M4 was bought. Around 9:30 am Sunday she came home.
Her joy over this thing is the same as giving a diamond ring to another. She rarely put the damn thing down all day. And she wont shut up about it. It's a hit. I did good.

You are indeed, a lucky man....damn lucky.

SJSC is a fine range. It's clean, safe, and well thoughtout. And njJONIGUY is nothing less than a gentleman. The only complaint I have is the no standing room issue. We bounced between the 50 and 100. I have one more range to check out. Don at Tips Hardware was telling me about another one in that area. I don't recall the name. SJSC is a contender.

I don't know how many times I told her to put the glasses on.

A tad off topic but, do you have to shoot from the bench, knelling, and prone position at SJSC. With those wooden shields up front it does not look like you can shoot standing and it also limits the view. I have been meaning to ask that question for a while cause I want to join. Just don't know if I like being limited to those shooting positions. Thanks.

Going off memory:

25 & 50 Yard Ranges - Standing and Bench
100 & 300 Yard Ranges - Bench Only

Of course, if no one is around, prone can be done on any range.  The bottom of the walls prevent one from shooting over the berms that are behind the targets.    Even if a stray goes beyond the berm, there is no housing for several miles.

Wish my wife would be as enthusiastic as yours.

Congrats!

Fair question Fidoman!

As you can see from PK90's pix, the front walls of the shooting houses are of differing heights to prevent stray shots from going over the berm downrange and taking out golfers (like my brother and his buddies) on the course down the road. On the 25 and 50 yd ranges, the front wall is split in height, half to allow standing, and the other half only high enough to allow bench or kneeling/sitting/prone.

On the 100 and 300 yd ranges, the wall height only allows for bench/kneeling/sitting/prone, except for shooting through the doorway opening (my personal favorite spot on the 100).
There is always the option of going out front (actually moving the firing line to the dirt and grass area just beyond the concrete pad) but you need all the shooters at that particular distance to agree to it.  So far, in my 3 months of shooting at SJSC, that hasn't been a problem, as I usually have the entire 100 to myself for most of Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

It was great to shoot with Total and Trooper Abuse yesterday! They've got some seriously nice toys and are good people too.

And SJSC would be a good place for an ARFCOM blast if we had enough members to cover it (current rules are 1 guest per member, $10/guest for the day). Hardly anyone uses the 300 yd range except the hi power team on Sunday mornings and we could string some folding tables across the width of the field at our chosen distance to establish a firing line.  How many arfcommers besides PK90 and myself are current members of SJSC?

Well, as long as I have the option to go in front of the barrier than that should be OK. Just like having the option open. Looks like I will have to get my a$$ in gear and get up there and sign up. Thanks PK and NJ.
