Can anyone give me a definitve answer as to whether the Bobcat BW89 pistol is legal in New Jersey and/or New York (state)?...  I read the linked laws at the top of the hometown posts, but am still a bit unclear.

Thanks.....

A BW89 would likely exceed the weight limit for NYS as it is postban and the AWB covers weight of pistols.  I sure wanted one!  About your only chance is to get an original HK that would be grandfathered in NY as a pre-ban and the weight limit would not apply.

Like HR said it exceeds the 50 oz. weight limit and is banned in NY.

Just wondering if the Bushmaster Carbon 15 type 97 pistol is legal in NY? It's only 46oz empty and has the unshrouded barrel. Is there anything else that would make it illegal?

Thank you New Yorkers. (Hey Hiram - how'd that Aimpoint mount work out for you?)

New Jersey folks?

Mount works great.

I have seen Carbon 15 pistols for sale in NY... I assume they meet the weight limit.

Same weight restriction in NJ.  However, the carbon pistols are, I believe, perfectly legal.  Hopefully, PK90 - our resident friendly neighborhood FFL - will be along...

Bushmaster Carbon pistols were designed to comply with the Federal AWB. If that is still the case then they are legal in NYS.
