Lonegan won't win the state, or the primary, but he will get my primary vote to send a message to Forrester that he'd better not try to be a fiscally conservative gun-grabber.

Yup. Lonegan here as well. After the first radio ad I heard that was a solid 45 seconds of nothing but pro-2A, pro NJ carry reform I was sold. No way in hell is he gonna win because the state GOP party bosses would never, EVER support him....

I voted for Shundler before ago and I will do it again.  Shundler is the only one who may be able to beet Corzine.

Send a message to Forrester by voting for Schundler, who is a true conservative Republican, including Pro-Life, although that isn't a state issue so it really doesn't matter for the governorship. Just don't tell your dem neighbors that he's pro-2nd or pro-life or they'll show up to vote for Corzine in the actual election.

Actually, it does matter. When the state wants to use tax dollars for in-state funding of stem cell research, it matters because those are OUR tax dollars. When the legislature wants to pass laws saying that a 13 year old does not have to inform their parents when getting an abortion, it matters. As well say gun control isn't a state issue and doesn't really matter for the governorship.

True...conservative...Republican? You have GOT to be kidding me. Sure...back when he was fronting against McGreevey he was....up until the point the GOP pulled support because their beauty boy Bobby didn't pick up the primary. It wasn't long before Schundler was backpedalling on a number of his positions to try and snatch up what votes he could. That soured me greatly on him, but granted moreso on the state GOP system.

This is kind of like the problem the liberals faced with Nader - he took enough votes from them that we safely beat them. If enough votes go to Lonergan, Schundler will lose to Forrester, and Forrester can't beat Corzine.

What if we vote and elect Schundler, and oh, say, hmmmm, he picks Lonergan as Lt Governor....

Newsflash....not even Schundler can defeat Corzine. Doesn't have the support, doesn't have the prestige, doesn't have the MONEY. Not to say any of the other GOP candidates really have a shot either...

Schundler pick Lonegan as LT? I'd get much better odds down at the Borgata...
