Yeah!! I saw grass today (brown) and went outside without enough winter clothes and survival gear to climb everest. Our special arfkom member guest star could not make it to the 79Transam shooting compound due to car trouble Steve found a pretty good metal target that seems to hold up to rifle fire well. I guess it is pretty soft metal and it is thick, so it looks like clay when shot up, v. the harder stuff that bends and then snaps in half on us. His target even stood up to .308 and I should be getting a new rifle target in in the next few weeks. My Colt Mustang is being bad again. It is not ejecting. I never carry it anyway, but it is still pissing me off. It seems very ammo sensitive. |
Made it to the bullethole today and shot off a couple hundred rounds of pistol. I need a ruger Mark II after today. What a fun and accurate gun to shoot. Also 124+p ammo isnt really a fun load to punch paper with. I might haev to scale it down to 115 grain next time. |
Shooting? Oh hell yes! Hoplite talks about getting a Ruger Mark II...well I freakin' went out and bought one! A used in like new condition(OK so it was filthy inside)Ruger Mark II 22/45, damn I never should have shot RBAD's Ruger. My Ruger 10/22 was humming along pretty good and discovered CCI Veloviraptor rounds work AWESOME out of the stock 10/22 setup. I did manage to make a very tactical H&K .45 carbine rifle "triple" with one pull of the trigger as well...at least that's what I told the range officer when he came to smack me in the back of the head. Tomorrow, Calverton. More .22LR fun and the M1A Scout Squad is coming too. Someone bring the suntan lotion, should be about 55 degrees! |
| Went shootin yesterday. Went through a couple hundrend rounds of 9mm and some 44mag. Spent most of the day though shootin the shit with a old guy at the range about muzzle loaders. Matter of fact I am plaining on hittin the shower and heading out to the range again very shortly. |
| We went to the Sunset Hill Range in PA on Sunday. My son shot his usual favorite, a Colt AR15 in 9mm. My wife had fun with my new RRA M4. I finally got to play with my SW SL8/G36 conversion. It was sswwweeeettt! The trigger on this rifle is awesome! With USGI mags it ran without a hitch. It did not like US made Thermolds though. Minor problem. They just need to have a little material taken off the front because the bullets were not clearing the front of the mag. |
