So I'm up for renewal and I'm seeing some great promotional rates
1.1 to 1.2 cents/kWh at 1,000 usage per month 500-1000 kWh is 10.5 to 11.1 cents 2000+ kWh is 6.1 to 6.5 cents so if you use 600 kWh your bill would be $63 but if you used 1,200 kWh it would be $13.20 my home is pretty efficient. only broke 1000 in June-Sept with low months in the 550 range. so in those low months, how can i double my energy consumption to get the best rate? doesn't make sense that they won't reward conservation. |

www.powertochoose.org
choose 78660 as the zip and pick the 1,000-2,000 kWh option with 12-24 month term |

Somebody help me out here. I've got this old house that no one has lived in for a year. Its got a running fridge, a few CFL lights, a couple of fans and an internet modem, router, etc. We're paying about $80/month for electricity. And when you look at the yearly billing, it still shows that house cycles with the seasons (more electricity use in the summer verses the fall and winter!) We've done some renovation work on the house, but 99.9% of the time, it does nothing. The central AC/heat won't even turn on.
I turned on a few natural gas bathroom heaters in January, but I don't know how in the hell we used $80 worth of electricity in January. I mean my modern house with 4 people living in it full time only had a $180 bill in January and it's all electric. I read the smart meter over a one week period. Starting reading was 1076kwh. A week later it was 1172kwh. So about 100 kwh if I'm reading it right, correct? So I'm using 400-500 kwh max per month for $80? |

Because $50 or more of your bill is flat-fees or flat-fees rolled into higher per kWh rates for low-usage customers (under 1000 kWh) So really, the comparison is $30 versus $130, and then it starts to make more sense. |
