[ARCHIVED THREAD] - 30.07 Sightings (Page 1 of 7)

| Cinemark Theater at Alliance (north Fort Worth area along 35W at Heritage Trace exit) had 30.07 signs up at the entrance today. No 30.06 signs, so I was able to carry anyway. |

Quoted:
The only one that I've seen so far (Costco in north Austin) was on 8.5x11 paper, along with the same 30.06 sign, but were not compliant. Size was too small and not in Spanish. What's the policy of Costco? Costco in Fort Worth has no signs. If they do, I won't be renewing my membership. |

Quoted: Yeah, do this. That site has to be the best resource out there for tracking the businesses that post up these signs. Quoted: Quoted: Check texas3006.com and if it's not posted there, post it. Yeah, do this. That site has to be the best resource out there for tracking the businesses that post up these signs. I'd like to know if this is true. Does anyone know about this? |

I read somewhere that there is an app for this. It's supposed to let you know if you are arriving at one of the places. I'd like to know if this is true. Does anyone know about this? Quoted:

Quoted: Really? What's the deal with these gun ranges and posting the sign. Seems odd to me. Quoted: Quoted: Athena Gun Club... Really? What's the deal with these gun ranges and posting the sign. Seems odd to me. Odd? It's fucked up. Screw the fudds. This will not fare well for the "I support the second amendment BUT please don't wear your guns into the gun range" crowd. What a bunch of vaginas. |

the new gun range in Fort Bend, G2G Family shooting center has posted 30.07 signs.... ![]() I exchanged emails with the owner, nice guy, he has a good explanation of the reasoning on their FB page G2G Facebook |

It's his business and his choice to do with it as he pleases. I just find it strange that a range would post that or any sign preventing people from carrying a gun at the range. |

Sounds like a new Doctor is in order. Quoted:

Went to my doctor for a regular check-up this AM, and they had taped 30.06 and 30.07 signs at the front door. Seems like the open carry law is percipitating more restrictions Sounds like a new Doctor is in order. I hear you, but I don't see this as hill worth fighting for. Anyway, the door faces the morning sun, I give the tape 2-wweeks max., before they fall to the floor, LOL. |

SIGEL'S Liquor on Inwood/Addison Rd at Belt Line in Addison has BOTH the 30.06 and 30.07. I've gone there for years and there was no sign last week. Now there are both. Seems like a lot of places are suddenly putting up both where they had none before; also saw one post where a business got called on it and they said the 30.06 went up in error, and they'd be taking it down. Makes me wonder if one of these businesses that's pimping these signs is just putting both up without explaining to the purchasing business owner what they're actually doing. |

I wonder if there is an asswipe or two going around selling signage, convincing people they are out of compliance. I had a guy walk into my place, and say I was out of code for improper signage of another type. He was lying. I told him to go away. This was in Collin County.
Edit - E 802 already made the point. |

About half-way down page 3. I think a lot of places are putting up both because they don't know what they are doing. |

They must have put those up today. Yesterday at about 6:30 they had a gunbusters at the top of the doors facing both south and east. They had "the unlicensed...." at the bottom of the doors. Quoted:

I get the feeling that some companies with out-of-state HQ's are being told to post signs by someone whose entire knowledge of Texas firearms law is "Hey, they passed a new law down there about carrying guns, make sure you get the sign up so they can't do that". |

I exchanged emails with the owner, nice guy, he has a good explanation of the reasoning on their FB page "Your probably not the kind of customer we want" Yeah real nice guy. The range I go to has a sign that Your Handgun must be in a range bag or in a holster until You get to the firing line. |

None of the employees screamed like little girls, no one bladed at 45 degrees, no one drew their weapon on me, no one was shot except the paper target zombies, and there was no PTSD at the end of the day. I have failed you all. |

I was car shopping at Rockwall Ford but decided to get the new car at another dealership. I could totally have told them that I didn't buy a new Mustang because of that and not at all because the salesman refused to listen to what I was looking for and kept steering me toward shit he wanted to get rid of before Q1. | I went to one of my credit unions last Thursday and there was an 07 posted. Was going to talk to my other credit union to see about moving my stuff over to them only to find that they had done the same. I may be stuck with just Wells Fargo by the time it's all said and done. |

There are 4 places on that list I eat at all the time. I really don't see how Rise n°1 will be able to post a sign at the front door unless it is posted on the door itself. I lived in Oklahoma when open carry was passed there a few years ago. Same thing. Just added open carry to the things you could do with a carry permit.
There was the exact same gnashing of teeth and wailing and predictions of blood and gore and all kinds of panic that would befall the state, new signs going up all over the place disallowing all carriage of guns. Within six months, everyone forgot about it, the signs quietly came down, and it became a non-issue. I think I may have in my time there seen two or three people open carrying, and nobody noticed or made a ruckus about it. The chicken littles will scream until everyone gets tired of hearing about them and realizes nothing is happening, then it will all go away. |

Lol. You think banks aren't going to be putting these signs up left and right. These are the people that won't even allow you to wear a hat and sunglasses when you walk in because they are afraid you might rob the place. You think they want people walking in with guns openly carried on their hips? Went to see "The Revenant" this week. Alamo Drafthouse put up 30.07 signs but you can still carry concealed which I did. |

Chase Bank will not prohibit open carry, according to an email sent to us by spokesman Greg Hassell on Wednesday morning: "In states where open carry of a weapon is allowed, we do not restrict a customer from carrying a weapon, unless that customer is acting in an aggressive, hostile or intimidating manner, or making menacing references to a weapon." I'm glad I'm with Chase. |
