It's been close to a decade since I've bought a gun at retail or been to a gun show.
It looks like Bachman went out of business. They were usually my go to at guns shows. I still have a lot of heartburn with Bullet Trap. So who are the local go to LGS in North Texas? The closer to Plano the better. |

My first stop would be here.
These guys have a decent selection and pricing also, but Rifle Gear is a better store both in selection and pricing. |
| I have only been to Rifle Gear once but I had a very positive experience. Over thanksgiving, my parents were in town and my Dad was looking for a Glock 43. Our last stop in our search was Rifle Gear. They had the 43 in stock and had the cheapest price of the places we had looked. They were also great in helping my old man through the paper work. I will visit them again especially since I drive right by the store every day. The store is hard to see from the tollway (DNT and Windhaven) but it is basically right on the service road in Plano. |

Thanks for the replies. I see there's a gun show at BigTown tomorrow, so I'll see what they have. Looking for a Colt New Agent or Defender. Go to the Colt website, their site guides you to Dallas Gunsource. They operate out of a biness in Addison by appointment. I got a smokin deal (I think) on my Colt. I was able to order online/over the phone, and check out the gun before pickup and final payment. |

Besides Grab A gun and Rifle Gear (both superb by the way) - in Plano also check out Whitewing Weaponry and Guns and Gear To Go. In McKinney Runner Runner Guns. All of these are also superb. I've also found a gem or two from time to time at Targetmaster in Plano and Cabelas in Allen. Shoot I'm still thinking about a Marlin Camp 9 I saw at Cabelas tonight...must stay away....

Note: This place is owned by the guy that used to own Bullet Trap. |

Note: This place is owned by the guy that used to own Bullet Trap. I've only been in Gun Gear To Go once, and all the staff I talked to were super friendly - definitely not the Bullet Trap vibe. But I was kind of underwhelmed by the selection they had in stock. This was back in October maybe? Not sure I'd go back. The whole "membership" thing doesn't really give me a warm fuzzy. Businesses should be earning my business, not the other way around. Another vote for GrabAGun, but it's not a place to go browse. You order what you want and pick it up. And don't be in a hurry when you show up. |

Both great shops and very friendly. Rifle Gear currently has Mec Gar Beretta 92 mags for 13 bucks, so I've been grabbing a couple every time I check to see if they have Magpul G19 mags. Still no love on the Glock mags, but my Beretta stash is getting out of control. |
