Were there many ammo vendors? Or, just go to Wally World and buy the cheap stuff there? Needing 9mm for a class.

I'd just go to Wal-Mart man. You won't have to drive to the show, pay an entrance fee, then pay for marked up ammo, just go to your local walls world and pick up what you need.

I didn't even take the entrance fee into consideration. That'd pretty much kill any savings.

There were two dedicated ammo set ups at Big Town the last time around.

As for deals it depends on what you are looking for. If you need HPs then the gun show will offer you several options. If, as you said, just needing fmj for plinking or class then as much as I can't stand Wally World I would have to say they are the best choice.
