Know I've posted before but I need to get my Class A drivers license-not a CDL. I've seen the big place on 377 that's the CDL training center. Don't need that.

Anyone here in the know?

Class A & B are commercial licenses, now they even have a class C commercial for driving smaller buses. You need a passenger endorsement to you commercial C   for buses.

From the DPS website:
Class A, B, C, and M driver licenses are issued to individuals who are exempt from obtaining a commercial driver license (CDL) or who are not required to obtain a CDL.

NOTE: Individuals who are exempt from obtaining a CDL may still be required to obtain a Class A or Class B driver license if the type of vehicle driven meets the definition of a commercial motor vehicle.

Individuals who are exempt from obtaining a CDL but may need a Class A or Class B driver license are:

Operators of recreational vehicles driven for personal use
Some farmers who meet certain criteria
Operators of cotton-seed modules or cotton burrs
A fire-fighting or emergency vehicle operator
   Military vehicle operators
Vehicles owned, leased or controlled by an air carrier

Provide an exemption and they (DPS) should point you to the right direction.

The tests are exactly the same as for a regular CDL.  Or so I am told.

Just get the handbook and study that.

I assume this is for hauling a trailer with your BRDM?
