Whos hoarding all the ammo?
I have plenty but who shops walmart in garland/plano/rowlett? I never had the need to clean the shelves of 22 but I'm sure I can since I'm up at 5am everyday Usually get mine from my other sources locally where no one goes. |

Happened to be there while they were stocking them. Txl |
| The store in Garland @ 30 and Beltline has gotten some in. Last two times I went in there they were stocking in the afternoon. I didnt buy any because I didnt need any. Now that my accountant wishes to be paid in .22LR, I have to find it again. Ammo doesnt just come in on Walmart's regular trucks. They get ammo "Direct" which means it comes in the store via UPS and Fedex. |

They still have a ton. Dropped by today to look at getting a Ruger mk3 Nice! I have a MK III 22/45 Lite that I bought to use as a suppressor host! I have a MK I 5" Target and MK II 4" model so I might need to get a MK III regular model to go along with them! Looking for a S&W M&P 22c for a host also but haven't found one yet. BigDozer66 |

Lol
Crazy. As far as Walmart, I've found the best way to get around the corrupt ammo workers giving you that shady "NO" when you ask if they have any 22lr is to ask them for their manager. They usually ball up and go into their shell quite quickly. Manager doesn't care about holding ammo so will tell you everything you need to know. Can also escalate to corporate and let them know what's going on if you really have evidence of unfair operations, that will turn a few heads. |

I'm not complaining, I have some stashed away, merely stating I haven't seen it in 2 years. Ammo isn't "available" in my book if I can't expect to walk into the store and have it sitting on the shelf waiting for me. |

Prior to 2 years ago, nobody had to "work" for .22LR ammo apart from carrying out of the store after buying it. Dickheads buying every box on the shelf to profiteer off of a panic are the reason it's scarce now. |

If a guy is shooting 1k rounds a month it's not hoarding, but if he's buying it just to stack it up or sell it at a markup at the gun show, then he is part of the problem. Quoted:

Dickheads buying every box on the shelf to profiteer off of a panic are the reason it's scarce now. No folks paying them for it are the problem. Fair point. Both are responsible to a degree. If people would stop paying, the neckbeards would stop hoarding it. I'm just pissed off because I've just basically refused to buy it at inflated prices, and it's been almost 2 years. My stockpile is nearly gone and I still can't find more in the stores. it's ridiculous and we all know it's because of profiteering, not people buying it for their own use. |

Sure, that's part of the problem, but the "shortage" is not ALL because of it. If someone walks by the ammo case in walmart and sees an employee stocking 10 boxes of Federal 550 at $19.77 pretty much every single person here would buy their 3 box limit regardless of what they intended to do with it or how much .22 they already had. It comes back to that saying "there's a shortage because there's a shortage." |

....My stockpile is nearly gone..... Let me get this straight............it's okay for YOU to have a "stockpile" and do with it what you wish, but it's neckbearding or hoarding when others do it?
and I still can't find more in the stores. it's ridiculous and we all know it's because of profiteering, not people buying it for their own use. If you wander into Walmart, Cabelas, Gander Mtn, Academy, etc at random times its not likely you'll ever find any .22 on the shelf. If you take the time to learn when a store stocks its ammo cabinet, you improve your chances. This is the "work for it" I referred to above. If you take the time to use any of the ammunition tracking websites or locators you improve your chances. This is the "work for it" I referred to above. If you take the time to search online vendors as often as possible, not just once per day, you improve your chances. This is the "work for it" I referred to above. If someone is willing to do the work they should be rewarded for their work......don't you agree?
My distributors haven't had ANY .22 available for order for almost three years. I'm a dealer and want to be able to sell ammunition to customers who buy a 10/22 or M&P15-22 . In order to do that I have to work to find it. Usually that's online, but when I see it at WalMart I happily scoop up my three boxes. There is nothing illegal, immoral or unethical about buying ammunition and reselling it for profit. Calling it profiteering, neckbearding or gouging shows you don't understand the definitions of those terms. |

Just so we are clear: you stake out your Walmart ammo counter based on what you have learned of their stocking habits, buy what you can, mark it up over what you paid for it, and resell it to someone willing to pay your price. Does that sound right? |
