This bad boy must have been eating a bunch of little piggies to keep his weight up.

Captured??

That thing is alive?

In Texas you cannot catch and then re-release a feral pig. There are certain state laws that apply.

You can catch a feral pig and then keep it as a pet, try to tame it. Only an idiot would do such a thing, bringing it into a farm setting as the diseases the animals carry can easily spread to your livestock.

Only way you can legally transport a feral hog is from your trap or holding pen to a licensed processing facility. Turning it loose again is not an option.

There is also a 7 day rule of capture that applies to feral hogs but not in this scenario if they decide to keep it as livestock. As someone else mentioned, I would be interested to learn what it had been eating to get so heavy. Most of the monster feral hogs have some kind of special food availability that allows them a care-free and sedentary lifestyle of non-stop food.

I thought they could be transported released on fenced game ranches?
