Me and the wife saw a grey Blackhawk w/manned doorguns flying east to west over Hwy 183 in Euless on Tuesday morning about 9:30am. Highway 183 connects Ft.Worth and Dalls just south of DFW airport. We were driving the opposite direction and I couldn't get my phone out to take pics fast enough once I realized what I was seeing. I told her that was very unusual to see especially since the doorguns were being manned. The grey color threw me off a bit too.

I saw one go over Austin (11300 Burnet Road) around 11:20. Couldn't tell if it was armed. Took a couple crappy pictures.

Grey "Blackhawk" is probably a Seahawk. Navy's version of the Blackhawk.

Might be doing some sort of combined readiness training.

The Joint Reserve Base-Naval Air Station is exactly in their path.

After posting I looked up some pics and agree it was a Seahawk. Looked a bit fatter at the bottom than a Blackhawk from the angle I was viewing.

An AH-64 Apache landed and took off again in Downtown Dallas, Tuesday night.

Video is herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kFmoqJzlb0

This was at the basically unused vertiport on top of the Convention Center. Why would an Apache land there? Not like they would be dropping people off or even practicing a tactical drill. An Apache would never land in a real world scenario.

Weird, what is going on?

Druge has a link to the blaze about this. Seems like no one really knows, but probably just some kind of exercise.

It would be like a Ferrari delivering pizzas though. I could never imagine even needing an Apache to practice landing there or any possible situation where an Apache would have some tactical or strategic need to be used in that situation.

If it were a mechanical issue I could understand, but Love Field is right nearby.

We had one land on top of our station and a crew member made a run straight for the shitter. I've seen the Coast Guard Helo's do touch and go's here too - no bathroom breaks though.

They were training, nothing more... Just staying current on hours.

They are my pilots. Very cool guys, all are gun guys. I am sure some have read this thread at work.

Turns out one of the pictures I took came out (sort of).

From Austin, Sept 10, towards the north end of Burnet Road.

ETA: It was cool. Kind of like seeing a free airshow as I walked to the cafeteria.

A few weeks ago down at Surfside beach we watched an AH64 sly south and then return northbound a little while later.
I didn't think anything of it.
He was in pretty low over the beach.....maybe doing a little sightseeing?
